Yes I had a blood test booked at Tessa Jowell for the 1st day of this crisis, 4 June & received a text cancelling the night before. GP surgery don’t know when it will be sorted but we’re saying check back beginning of July. A BBC tv report last week showed operations being cancelled at Kings & urgent cases being transferred to St George’s. Blood tests are being done for patients at Kings but they are taking much longer as they cannot use the software to process & everything has to be double checked manually. As my tests are not urgent I’ll just wait until they are up & running again.

Saw all 3 yesterday. Plus young moorhens & some very young ducklings still on the nest. Wisteria also looking beautiful.

Woodpecker in the garden & heard one in Peckham Rye Park last week

The Elms is under new ownership. It has had mixed reviews. Not sure how it is now. I was looking into finding a Care Home a year ago. Visited Manley Court Care Home. A Bupa home on the site of the old Millwall football ground. Was impressed with the home & staff. Peartree Care Home on Sydenham Road always gets good reviews.

They will take towels, sheets, pillowcases, teatowels, blankets. Not duvets. Basically anything that can be used as bedding & that can be washed in a washing machine.

I volunteer at Celia Hammond. Happy to collect from you & deliver. I know they are short of bedding at the moment.

If this was down the freezer aisles they were very narrow for a time as they moved the existing freezers forward & put the new freezers behind, presumably until they could get the new freezers up & running. There has obviously been some problems with this if there was no frozen food over the las few days.

And another recommendation for Niko. Used Niko several times before so the obvious choice for a leaky sink. He came out same day & worked out the problem. Managed to change some things slightly to make the water flow through more quickly. Offered good advice to keep the sink clear. Wanted me to update him a few days later that all was still well. Absolute pleasure to deal with.

If you turn left out of Muschamp onto Ondine you will be fined but you can turn right onto Ondine. What does the photo show? Contest it. https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/st-johns-and-st-clements-primary-school-street/supporting_documents/StJohsStClements.pdf

If the fine is for driving south on Adys Road check the photo. The sign on the left Hand side of the road has been removed for a week or so now. Also there is often a large white van parked blocking the view of the sign. I have no problem with making the streets around schools safer. Adys Road at school times was bad, mainly made dangerous by the parents dropping off their children. But these signs are poorly placed.

Warnings were sent from 17 April to 9 May. Penalty Charge Notices are now being issued. This one on Adys Road is particularly bad as there are no advance warning notices & by the time you see this notice you have no way to avoid going into the closure zone other than reversing down Adys Road! (Operational Mon-Fri 8:39-9:15 & 15:00-15:45)

Terrapin in Peckham Rye Duck Pond
dresswaves replied to Kirsty7's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yes been in the pond for many years. Often see them sunbathing in the summer. This photo was taken about 5 years ago. -
It‘s actually on the Rye not the park. Most of Peckham Rye is cordoned off but the Park is open.

Does anyone know the owner of Black VW Polo BN10EVD parked on Ondine Road? Neighbours are moving today & it would be extremely helpful if it could be moved

Large ginger and white cat - taken to vets
dresswaves replied to ktbg's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Bertie came home Saturday. The operation on his leg went well & he‘s on cage rest for 6 weeks. We don’t know yet if he will regain any of his sight & he‘s still being tube fed. Licked some Lick-E-Lix this morning so some slow progress. -

Considering he had multiple small skull fractures & a badly broken leg I don’t think catching birds was on his mind. -

...& provide back garden access, as opposed to the streets. Unfortunately having back garden access didn’t help Bertie. He & his two comrades have direct access to a 100ft back garden & we have high side gates & I’ve never seen them go out the front. But I can’t control what side access our neighbours have. I think Bertie chased a squirrel through a neighbours garden & out to the street. I think his lack of experience on the road led to him being hit. Just really bad luck. -

It was my cat, Bertie. He was up a tree on Marsden Road and had to be rescued by the Fire Brigade. Luckily the vet from The Neighbourhood Vets was on hand & took him straight there. He is microchipped and I was contacted. He is now at North Downs Specialist Referrals as he had quite a few complicated injuries. A badly broken back leg is being operated on today and if all goes well he will be home with me at the weekend. I think he was chasing squirrels. A reminder to have your cat microchipped & keep the information up to date & have insurance!
