Black and White Cat on St Aidan's Road
DeptfordDiva replied to fiskaroo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Although the cat has a collar, it could be that it's lost or the owners have moved away or died and the cat has been left behind. It could also be that the cat isn't neutered, so finding the owner might result in that being done. If i were you Fiskaroo i'd put a few notices out locally and see if anyone responds. For the record, my cats have access to the outside day and night. I also have a frequent visitor almost every night around 2-3am, luckily he's a sweetie and doesn't cause any problems. -
Please dont forget the Celia Hammond Animal Trust if you do decide get cats. We are absolutely desperate for homes, on top of it being kitten season, our Hastings branch recently had to take in around 60 Persians, and we at Lewisham have just taken in 55 grey cats from one house. Give us a call on 020 8694 6545 and check out our website - www.celiahammond.org which shows only a fraction of the cats waiting for homes.

LM could still be caught, didnt he say in the original thread that he was arranging to pick up something that was advertised on the For Sale section? He might still turn up and forumites could lay in wait and nab him:)

Boomerang, neuter is a general term for de-sexing. Females are spayed (or speyed), males are castrated. Sometimes when females are done, bits of ovary get left behind and the cat still appears to be in season (tho they cant get pregnant). The best thing for stray toms is to neuter them and then return them to the same area, once the hormones die down they're not usually a problem.

Kittens to Cats in East Dulwich
DeptfordDiva replied to TimmyBaggins's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Legalbeagle, there is a product you can buy to help with cat allergies, its called Petal Cleanse, you rub it onto the cats fur and it stops the spores from shedding. A colleagues son is very allergic and he took a Persian home and used it. As far as i know he doesnt have to use it at all now and has no problem. Having said that, cats tend to be blamed for most allergies when in fact in most cases its nothing to do with them. -
Drivers be aware. (toddlers on bikes, Hindmans Road)
DeptfordDiva replied to Morag's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've recently had to drive through East Dulwich quite a lot and i have to say, there seem to be tons of cyclists (not toddlers admittedly) on the road, as far as i'm concerned they are a menace!! They ride along in the middle of the road and cause motorists to swerve quite far out to avoid them. Motorists get the blame for accidents involving bikes - unjustly in my opinion. -

Maybe you could post a photo so the previous posters would know if this is the same cat? -

Mazza it may not be the same cat as this one sounds very friendly, are you saying you cant touch the one that comes to you? If you can't touch him it sounds like he will need to be trapped. -

What a shame you let him out, if he comes back try and coax him back in and call Celia Hammond on 020 8694 6545. If it's out of hours there's an emergency number on there. You never know, it might have a chip. -

DeptfordDiva replied to TonyQuinn's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I think there must be something in the water!!! On the news this evening it said there was a murder in Brockley this morning and a gun incident last night in Greenwich! I don't worry for myself, but i'm scared for my kids. -
Con woman visited. Police called. Update v soon!

'A piddling case'!! I wonder what her annual income is? I bet it's more than i earn!!! She hasn't just hit one person, it's a career to her - so i'd hardly say it was 'piddling'. You also missed the point of my previous post, but i won't bother explaining it as you appear to have no sense of humour. -

The Citizens arrest line sounds good to me, I'm sure some of you forumites will have a set of handcuffs lying around the house ;-) -
Where else in the world but here?
DeptfordDiva replied to Louisa's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I'm really scared to say this - but i kind of agree with Louisa!! It's ridiculous that everything grinds to a halt. I work for an animal charity, and many of our workers couldn't get in simply because there was no public transport. We had a skeleton staff (people living in or very local) who had to clean cages and feed cats both in the morning and again at night. Somehow it wouldn't mean much to the cats if we told them they couldnt eat because it was snowing!!! -
I think that the majority of cat owners whose cats have access to a garden do NOT have a litter tray - why would they? I have 9 cats and they all go out, however i have one litter tray in the house and only 2 of my cats use it - the rest go outside.
