There are millions of maggots on the pavement / outside our houses on Marmora Road. Anyone else got this? Any ideas why? (not related to the TV ad being filmed right now, I think!)

Seriously though, if I had to take a leak in a public place and then someone TOOK A PHOTO OF ME DOING IT, I'd do a lot more than wave my fanny at them. The nerve. Why don't people mind their own business? There's serious stuff happening in our local community and in the country as a whole. And you're making a massive fuss about someone peeing. PEEING. It's not like they were masturbating in a child's face is it?

Still closed, just spent 45 mins trying to escape Devonshire Rd. Apparently reopening later but the speed bumps still aren't in place so not quite convinced.

I was speaking to a policeman today, and he tried to give me a number for East Dulwich station. I had to tell him it no longer existed.

I think they're intimidated by those foreign green birds who've come over here and taken over our town. I suspect most of our owls are now in Spain, where they read the Daily Mail and complain about the natives.

Thanks for the advice - I didn't realise there was a refugee centre in ED. I'll give them a ring on Mnoday to see what they'd like and will take the rest to St Christopher's. Thanks again.

After a LONG day of going through my wardrobes I have six bin bags worth of clothes to donate. All are good quality and lots never worn (to my shame; I was young and carefree). I'd like to donate these items to a charity shop or two - does anybody know of which shops are currently low on stock/would like them? Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks!

Dear all, I have been informed by TfL and your local councillors that a meeting has now been confirmed for this coming Friday 6th September. This is welcome news and I trust that those residents who want, and are able to, attend will be given the opportunity to express their views and concerns to TfL and the Council. Dear All, I have finally heard back from Transport for London about a time for site visit and meeting to discuss the road works and the diversion. None of the options we've been given for this were outside of normal working hours, so apologies in advance for the less than ideal timing. I know this means some people won't be able to make it, but feel free to let me (or neighbours who can attend) know your views before the meeting and we will pass these on. The details are: Time: Friday 6th September, 11am ? 12:30 Meeting point: Corner of Mundania Road - next to Honor Oak Baptist Church Part 1: On site - walk round the diversion route, possibly also looking at the onsite works location. Part 2: Sit down at a local cafe to talk through the plans in more detail (30 ? 45 minutes). I'll confirm the precise venue for this ASAP. We've made lots of signs asking the drivers to slow to a 15mph limit (which we shouldn't have to do) ... yet many drivers aren't keeping to this. Nice.

Residents of Marmora Road have received emails from Danny Hathaway (from Harriet Harman's office) and Gavin Edwards Councillor for Peckham Rye (With Victoria Mills and Renata Hamvas)today in response to our calls and emails. Several people have also been phoned. A meeting is being planned for some point next week - I'll be surprised if this actually happens. But the bus drivers ARE slowing down (after a campaign of speed awareness signs made by residents).

Agreed. I've had to jump those lights twice now. Hate doing it, makes me feel sick.

This is why I love living in ED :-) Exactly - it's a community trying to find an alternative because we a) don't want our cars scratched to pieces, and b) would rather the fronts of our houses and flats weren't damaged. Obviously we'd like the main road and safety to be improved. We'd also like to be able to objet to buses coming down a narrow, unstable road and for our concerns to be taken seriously.
