My son started Buds 5 weeks ago. I agree with what smartie1 says. I also looked at other nurseries but felt the most comfortable here. It wasn't just about the facilities or what they learn. The staff are calm and lovely and in turn you will notice well behaved and happy children unlike some of the other manic child care settings around.

Hi I somtimes go to Tumble at the Albrighton Centre and I would say its good. It runs even in the holidays. They use up a lot of energy and you can just sit and watch. http://www.albrightoncommunitycentre.org/activities/under-5s-activities/ -

I would recommend First Aid for Life based in Balham. I attended a paediatric course a few years run by Emma in her home. Very professional and knowledgeable. -

Hi Welcome to the area. I also have an 8 month old too so would be happy to connect with you. I find the Hoop app quite useful for knowing what activities are on each day. Also the Mush app is useful for connecting and meeting up with other local mums of children with different ages. I'm meeting 2 mums from there today for the first time. -
I don't live in the same postcode as you and I didn't want to go through my GP either. I phoned the Maternity Helpline at King's College and referred myself for antenatal care but they also asked about catchment area. Maybe you could phone the number and discuss your situation.
