  1. Interesting what you say about the Lordship Pub LeeK. We live nearby and have noticed that noise levels do seem to increasing. They?re obviously doing well - and there seems to be weddings most Friday and Saturday nights at the moment. The late night discos are pretty loud and do start to get annoying in the summer months when the windows are open! Not sure there?s much that can be done though...
  2. It looks terrible...
  3. Is this thread not a bit unfair on Le Chandelier? I'm pretty sure that they don't pretend to be the best value for money coffee shop in the area... If you don't like the price of the 'large cappucino' and 'pain au chocolat'- then simply go somewhere else cheaper and stop moaning!!
  4. Why would this thread make you laugh? An odd response to something potentially serious.
  5. TonyQuinn - I totally agree with you. A few individuals have come out with some very bizarre comments on this thread.
  6. That's awful. Poor form indeed - don't speak I'll of the dead.
  7. Thanks for the update Planetslly - it was considerate of them to let their neighbours know. Sorry for sounding like a killjoy!
  8. It was on the corner of Whateley Road and Landcroft Road. I don't want to seem like a killjoy, but the music was far too loud for a quiet residential road. Not nice for the surrounding families with small children. Does anyone know whether it was students? Or, were parents away for the weekend?
  9. Absolutely agree with you RockyZool. It's a shame that this thread has turned into yet another middle-class bashing session....
  10. Well said AlexC - good to see that somebody is talking sense...
  11. End of this silly thread. ED is doing just fine, small independant shops will always turnover for many different reasons. That said, sorry to hear that Green and Blue is closing.
  12. This post seems to be a bit of an over reaction in my opinion. LL and ED is thriving, despite the recession. End of.
  13. Fewer Indian restaurants...
  14. To be frank, I just can't understand why anybody would not welcome the introduction of M&S into Lordship Lane. The demographic of the area is changing no end and I think the reality is that most people would welcome the quality that M&S offers. Fingers crossed that the application is accepted!
