  1. Can everyone not see - Buses are the problem not cars, cycles or motorbikes. Bar buses to only use bus lanes.
  2. From what I know this business is a very tough nut. Get a bike license and try for a courier job. If not good luck, start small and think big !
  3. Shock doctorine, brilliant, eye opening and well researched.

I'd like LENR too but I'm sure the day we see it the demonstration will take place in a field full of unicorns.

I've made my mind up - fracking is not the future. It will cause issues and I want fusion NOW. Imagine if the UK ploughed the money earmarked for HS2 into fusion.

  7. More people need more heat, hot water, produce more waste, park more cars and wash more clothes. The water supply is a system, the more you take out the more you need to put in. The more you put in the more stress on the infrastructure at all points (entry, exit, process etc). Bad planning, greed and poor governance are causing this. It's not just water but airports, rail networks, the electricity grid..... it goes on. We need smart solutions and smart thinking not arguments, indifference, antiquation and shifting responsibility.
  8. So you agree its better to impose restrictions on people than solve problems in a logical and fair manner ?
  9. Cyclist should be banned, as should pedestrians and motorists - except me !
  10. I'm both a cyclist and motorcyclist. As a cyclist I look out for No 1 and ride as if on a motorcycle (progressive, observant with forward planning). Today on my motorcycle I nearly T boned cyclists on 2 occasions on my motorbike, they both jumped the lights. 2 weeks ago 1 cyclist jumped the lights, saw me locked his front wheel and tipped over his handle bars. If I had crashed on any of these occasions who would pay for the damage ? My advice is fit cameras to your helmets, car dash whatever - This works in Russia and China. Even without insurance you could probably sue the money out of them.
  11. I had problems with Vodafone last year into this year. After starting a campaign in the forum getting people to report faults here and to them, plus directing them to the thread and calling them daily they finally agreed to send me a sure signal free of charge. I think 02 have a boost box so if its your home that has the black spot you may want to pursue this with them.
  12. totally agree with cycling I for one use either a motorbike or bicycle for my commute. however the reason that I now live in east Dulwich is we worked out a saving of ?250 per month just because of reduced rail fares despite the increase in rent. it is this sort of social impact the government has missed. given the current housing crisis the rail issue will only compound matters. re-nationalisation may be an option but so are 15 or even 20 year franchises, however I would prefer nationalisation. In some instances a bike isn't practical, especially for those who either cannot use a bike through impairment, see it as being too dangerous or travel an impractical distance. how much money do the public need to put into the pot outside of taxes. it can't continue.
  13. It has just been announced by the press that rail fare rises may increase by more than 9% this year. Apart from the obvious impact on our wallets due to the dependency we have on such services how have the government got this so wrong ? What can be done to modify the rail market in favour of passengers but still increase the service levels ? What will be the real social impact if such a policy carries on infinitum ?
  14. See if you have a windows boot disk on CD - Sometimes the machine information is attached with the windows license sticker. Otherwise access your router as an admin (if you have one) and look to see if there are mac addresses stored. If there are eliminate them until you find your device, pass this to the computer company. As for ID theft change ALL of your online passwords. If you use internet banking don't worry too much as they have more security layers. It may be worth checking with equifax for any unusual activity. On the whole don't worry about ID fraud - I've had it done to me more than once but it's never cause dme a problem due to my security set up at the vendors.
  15. Can you give details of the interference ? I have no major issues but have seen the odd colour bar issue, slight ghosting etc but only for brief moments when changing channel.
  16. It sounds like a 4g issue this week the 800mhz band was activated for mobile telecoms. This is close to freeview bands and is a known issue. There is website https://at800.tv they will fit the necessary equiment to eliminate the interference for free I think.
  17. Report it the police initially. Irrespective of an opportunist all lines of enquiry must be eliminated. Yes it may be considered a minor crime and a pawn shop is a very good place to start but really unless you have tracking software or extra security you have most likely lost it. I would recommend cloud storage or a NAS drive for back up in future.
  18. I would much prefer somebody to sit in the house that has jumped head first into the lions pit of institutional racism within the state and made a change for the better than a jumped up howling lord / lady with the moral aptitude of a rat.
  19. Okay this is going off topic but whatever. Couldn't agree more with the sentiment something has to be done but I'm not sure this is the right way to go about it. I agree with a degree of anonymity and freedom online however not at the expense of the vulnerable. These methods are a step closer to total censorship and state control of the web. Given the fact that some ISP's and search engines already have some methods it does raise the question of what is the true motive of the government ? The methods he is discussing will only go so far. I think there should be a new application layer through an ISP whereby to log in you must have a unique cypher key in the same way we have an NHS number - an ID, internet passport whatever. This key could be totally confidential and only be viewed by an authority whose aim is to prevent crime, track and record your actions online making you accountable but allowing the anonymity in the web community. Its the point of access that should be controlled and monitored, search engines and DNS servers aren't a hard point of access the gateways are. .....and now back to page 3
  20. Come on it wasn't hard - I was commenting on his approach to internet sensorship in respect to his idea of a search engines ability to return nil results using certain search strings.
  21. Only if you post a picture of your's too LOL typical response really that bears no logic or reason in relation to the topic. Its as much my choice to rock out with my cock out as much as it is not to, I could even wear a dish dash if I wanted or a dress or mankini, personally I'll leave the penis waving to the Ron Jermemys of the world. This is called freedom of choice. Freedom of choice applies to the papers which people choose to read as much as it does to those who wish to pose nude (ish) in them. Also I don't think the mods would take kindly to it - the site may fall fowl of David Cameron.
  22. Who reads the sun ? I mean I havent read it since I was in school, at which stage my thoughts were that half nude women were an essential part of the day. Is it really such a pertinent issue ? There are arguments against it but do these people actually read the paper or is it just principle ? If we argue merely on principle where does that path lead ? In Bali you can buy a variety of wooden penises, they are on display everywhere, in greece erotic hard core playing cards are for sale next to the haribo, in Dresden the art hotel has a 20 foot man on the hotel roof displaying his wares to the town, inside the hotel the theme continues with breasts and penises adorning the corridors, rooms and bar yes its a normal business / tourist hotel. This campaign is just too British, no wonder we have a reputation as a nation of prudes. Long live page 3 its like a cup of tea in morning, roast beef on a sunday, a big red london bus and a cheeky cockney London cabby - shall we ban them too for not conforming to a feminists agenda ?
