  1. 1% of apples or pears ? You can't combine the 2 to draw a comparison. Where is this information source ?
  2. I've never had a problem with the Bishop, though I only really go there on the odd Sunday afternoon for beer and pizza.
  3. If the council or police issued it you must pay. If it was anyone else totally ignore it and dont even reply to any letter you recieve. Look up the consumer action group for advice.
  4. Are these the same police muppetts that asked me to remove my motorbike from the pavement (as it was chained to a lamp post). Leaving me to park it in the middle of the road - a hell of a lot less secure and prone to theft. Yeh real good police we have. Go Catch the burglers, rapists, thieves, con men, drug dealers and Former BBC employees please !

Really is a shame as the chef is a lovely lady, but stopped going there due to the service. I do get the impression that some of the more established vendors simply dont give a monkeys.
  6. I'll have it since you can afford a ?1400 paper weight I'm sure you wont miss it.
  7. I don't agree with the global agenda on this off topic issue. Policing is a local issue (as in our country) and should remain that way. Our laws, our customs. No need for a global ear tag. Can we talk about breasts now please.

Try syria tube - It's straight from the conflict. Real gritty coverage of the conflict. unverified, uncensored, no commentary straight from the horses mouth.
  9. Why stop at the internet ? What about media overload - Surely constant viewing of corry, eastenders, X factor etc is as bad as twitter, facebook, reddit, xbox.... It's just that we find couchpotatoism more acceptable than gluing yourself to your table, phone, PC, console... My wife spends her life facebooking, tweeting, instagramming, whattsapping where as I would you tube, wiki and research for interest (with a bit of PS3ing in between) - 2 sides of the same coin. I like to learn (really hate none educational media no matter how its packaged) where as my wife likes the relax and consume media content.

I can't believe this thread is devolving into arguments for and against each side in Syria. Whether the regime is evil or the rebels are terrorists is superferlous to the human suffering of the innocent. We cannot back either horse in this race which is why intervention must be properly considered from a coperative UN joint partnership.
  11. Sorry to here about that. I live in Friern Rd and saw 3 very iffy looking people on Thursday night. They appeared to be carrying out a reccy. I know some people will say you cant judge but now someone has been burgled.

My faith in government is now restored. The revolt is not defeat nor should it be seen as such, it's a positive and progressive action, hang over from Iraq aside parliament is at least waking up to reality and being less guided by American policy.
  15. Well Im not a Londoner by origin so the football team didnt match and I identify with a tazmanian devil more than a lion plus there were no quintin tarrentino films listed but, You got: Piccadilly Line! The small things in life amuse you. You love feeling like a tourist, and rarely spend too much time in one place. Its sort of true then I suppose.

True, for all the bluster a limited strike wouldn't necessary mean immediate blow back, but long term maybe. Though on that coin a limited strike may be pointless. It wouldn't end the war. I don't think the muslim world is to be feared but nor is it to be embraced. I actually support Iran's nuclear program (as long as it's peaceful), here is where a major breakthrough could be made by co-operating with Europe, however this may annex America - though why should they dominate, if they don't like it they should re-base their currency.

Perhaps Iam being a bit post soviet though I was drawing on thoughs of chile. The fact Lebonon is Hezbollah and will strike Israel mean they are of significance if you view the whole area as a tinderbox. Unfortunatley as soon as the missile are sent there is a very strong possibility of total regional war.

In History a Coup against such leadership is usually the result of differing economic policy (privatization Vs nationalization) at the hands of external influence (IMF for instance). In this case a coup has to be brought about by a will of the people. Unfortunately that was the catalyst to this conflict in the beginning leading both sides to polarize and even phase (rise of fundamentalism), but only the resistance phased in this way. It's really difficult to see how a coup could be brokered in this situation. Only Russia hold those cards (from an economic perspective) and I don't foresee them taking this course of action. Iran and Lebanon are the only other two who may be able to sway an influence. Considering Iran want nuclear power it may be able to use this position and prove itself to be a stabilising factor in the region in the eyes of the International community and try to create such an event, Lebanon will never support a coup of Bashar (unless persuaded by Russia and Iran). It is possible and could even be of benefit to a peaceful resolution for the "Iran agenda".... but then there is the Israel problem !

    Syria

Syria is a total mess. Once again we are backing some people, our enemies are backing some people, some other people want to get involved and some people just want to be left alone. It reminds me of Basra in 2004 (minus the chemical weapons). These attacks happened - fact, carried out by whom - perhaps we will never know. Given the falsified data provided as justification for an attack in Iraq no matter what is found I think Syria's fate is decided. In the coming days the international community will change (again) and the middle east will once again be in turmoil (again). I can only imagine the terror that people have gone though this last 2 years and dread what is to come from this.
  21. Never seen any bullying on this forum, youtube is where it's at. Here at least people form constructive opinions, thoughts, counter arguments etc... youtube is like a mental institution for cyber nuts. One thing I will say about this forum is that it has an astounding ability to go completely off topic without mod intervention - it's great
