  1. Nice tip on Charing Cross trains. I had never considered that in 5 years of living here!
  2. DulwichFox - It's not private, but that's how I sometimes get home from a weekend in Dorset :) So, helicopter +1
  3. Weekday's are such a bore and its getting hot over they're.
  4. 63 bus to Elephant & Castle and then the Bakerloo line works well for me, but it depends on what time of day I guess. My advice - get a motorbike/scooter. Best thing I ever did in terms of living around here.
  5. People everywhere breaking the law, terrible. I saw someone doing over 30mph on Lordship Lane the other day. I was disgusted!!
  6. Funny, that's exactly where google maps says it is!
  7. cate - blimey, looks like someone's starting to open their metaphorical door at long last. What did the postman bring for you this morning!!!?
  8. It needs filter lights. Period. I've been saying this for a long time now.
  9. So, anyone like to shed any light on the matter!!?
  10. Before long we'll have lost the ability to have a 'live' conversation with people, resorting only to social networks and forums. How sad.
  11. That's a sexual assault in my mind and he should be reported.
  12. ?2k, bargain. Where do I book?
  13. They also have to clearly display a camera sign. If they catch you and there is no camera warning where you are parked, then it's not enforceable. Or so I have been led to believe.
  14. If only he added a few pebbles and some iron rods.
  15. I never answer the door unless I'm expecting someone. Simple as that.
  16. Must be the beginnings of the polar shift.
  17. The works are not the problem, it's the phasing of the temporary lights! It's not that hard to sort out... (and yes skidmarks, I used to work for Siemens Environmental Systems in Poole where they design/make most of the traffic lights in the country. Admittedly this didn't include temporary lights though!)
  18. Where's the fun in being normal?
  19. I reported this to them 2 weeks ago - it's not a major leak. I had no water at around 2-5am this morning though.
  20. eater81 - Even if a dog sniffs you and detects something, I don't think the police have rights to search you or ask you to empty your pockets. I might be wrong on this though - but I think you CAN refuse for a dog to sniff you - since they would need reasonable grounds for suspicion to use one on you in the first place. It's rather invasive of them to use a narrow alleyway to do this though. Most of the time you can actually say "no" to the police, but most people don't know their rights. Just like the police have no right to enter your premises without a search warrant. Unfortunately, new terrorism bills are stripping us of these freedoms though.
  21. skidmarks - that's not true! They can of course be phased more efficiently. Admittedly now, North and South traffic flow will not be able to move at the same time now (since only one lane is available now), although I don't understand why East and West cannot (as was allowed with the permanent set). Temporary lights can come with sensors to allow for dynamic phasing - they just haven't bothered.
  22. The police gave me a free SmartWater kit when I requested one a year or so ago. I live around The Gardens area.
  23. Concrete will freeze at around -6C. At -1C it will take around 19 hours to set. But heat blankets can be used.
  24. It's clearly made an impact on their grammar.
