    That sounds like a horrible experience. We need to get people like that off the streets all together. I'd recommend reporting it to the police. If other's have had a similar experience, they may be able to peice things together in order to 'profile' this excuse for a human being.

    I've seen a few rats on this forum, but none on LL. Surely it's a London-wide issue. Why do you think there are more rats in East Dulwich than in any other part of our city (bar perhaps Kebab & Wine in the early hours)?

    There are actually 2 24 off-licences at the end of East Dulwich Road. Either side of the Tesco (one being the Merco garage).

    Last time I went there I sat outside for an hour and didn't get served. By the time the spotted me, the kitchen had closed. Terrible place! Let's hope we get some fresh blood.

    NEVER willingly give money to anyone on the street. It's pretty simple. The people falling fowl of this scam are very likely to be thinking about pocketing the goods. Why else would one pay money to take the ring to a police station!?

    Many establishments will simply use an air curtain: http://www.dimplex.co.uk/products/commercial_heating/air_curtain_heating_explained.htm Are you going to ask a shopkeeper to close their door if they have one of these?

    If it sounds like it's too good to be true, it probably is.... Sounds like a pretty obvious scam - I'm suprised anyone would ever fall for that.
