  1. Bring back the Marathon
  2. "I suspect that someone in the sorting office is nicking them! " Careful!
  3. Did they ever disappear!? They kept that quiet.. ;)
  4. GlumPuppy - Indeed. I have a city lawyer friend who lost her job a couple of weeks ago amongst others. There are so many companies laying off at the moment and it doesn't seem to make the news. The proverbial dog-mess still hasn't hit the fan yet... Still, I see this recession as opportunity. As has been said, when everyone else starts buying, it's almost too late. When things start improving, I think it could move quite fast.

Surely not! Maybe a studio flat in South Ken? Been there, got the t-shirt.... [Edited, as I'm tired and can't spell]
  6. 3-4 bed house for around 350-400k sounds about right to me. I already had an offer accepted at ?475k for a 4-bed (which I later dropped), so not far to go...
  7. charl1e, nice! Where do you race it?
  8. Part civil servants, yes.
  9. PLEASE let it be Halifax. Good riddance to them. They completely screwed me over when I bought here 5 years ago.
  10. The Goldman figure for London was around 3000 people. This wasn't really reported at all, but it happened a couple of weeks ago. Around 14% in IT were allegedly axed.
  11. So you'd avoid a place in ED due to one armed robbery!? Would you avoid a place in South Kensington if someone told you an armed robbery also too place there (I'm sure there have been many)? Seriously, you can't avoid an area because of one incident!
  12. Huge job losses in the financial sector and lack of bonuses will have a pretty large impact on property prices, especially in London. Traditionally, bonuses have been deposits on homes. These are going to be virtually non-existent at year end. It's a very worrying table. I think the figures are global numbers, but it's still hitting London extremely hard.
  13. But a role play is simply acting. I emphasise the word 'act'. Is this really going to catch the true racists out there? I suspect not.
  14. A Nissan GTR... ...and then cancelling the order last week!
  15. I'm very surprised that online property auctions haven't taken off actually.
  16. Another pram hits the pavements. Thanks Mr Postie! ;)
  17. I wouldn't accept ?250k to live in Brockley. Would be selling myself short there.
  18. Not sure what ?250K has to do with the price of meat (fish)? Should he have been treated better due to above average earnings?
  19. You can still buy a property at auction with a mortgage.
  20. Sorry guys - I found that on an online directory and didn't test it. I've not edited the original post. If anyone discovers the direct line, can they please post it.
  21. Looks like a nice pub, but seems we're heading quite off-piste from East Dulwich. Well, should be able to make this one anyway!
  22. I'm in favour of a poll. Have asked for this before, but didn't get the buy-in.
  23. How about getting each bar/pub in ED to pitch for our presence? Let's put it out to tender and populate the establishment that wants us the most!
  24. Bikes on the pavement are fine, but jump off it first!
