  1. Does anyone know if the busses are running yet?
  2. Tonic Coffee Bar - near piccadilly
  3. Thought some you might be interested that East Dulwich or "Easy D" as they call it features in the magazine this week. They mention most of the good restaurants/pubs although there's a few notable admissions.
  4. I don't understand. It wouldn't be on LL so won't effect the character of the area, and more convenient than Peckham etc for the chains. What's the problem?
  5. Gymboree is next door. It appears that it will be used for classes etc, not casual play. You can't see it from the cafe part either. It's not set up like Dish and Spoon with a toy space etc. Plenty of room for buggies, but there isn't a play area in the cafe part. 6. I was going to say the same. Did the beginners course a few years ago and they are a very friendly and welcoming bunch.
  7. Is there anywhere closer than Tooting that somebody has used recently?
  8. Something like a Burger Bear Tom (I know he's setting up in Shoreditch) would be perfect.
  9. So does anyone have any recommendations then? Don't like that one off LL as I picked up car once with a huge scratch and they denied everything. Conveniently the camera wasn't working that day.
  10. Agreed! We live opposite the Sainsbury's too and it's extremely dangerous, people seem to fly down there! lordshipjones Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > When I left our house opposite Sainsbury's on > Lordship this morning at 0600, there was a Met > Blue Tent outside the roofers, a damaged > motorcycle and signs of a major injury. It's like a racetrack.
  11. Definitely going. Barely any stock in there now. Not sure what's happening to the PO though.
  12. Agree. Came around this week for a fairly straight forward plastering job. He was clean, efficient, friendly and the price was fair compared to other quotes we received.
  13. Definitely looked closed when I passed today. Only a few chairs, coffee machine and toasting machine left. Quite a few empty shops in that strip with the french place, zin oriental, the shop with the post office closing down and now Gastronomia!

  15. Thanks j9duff, It was our first baby so unfortunately we weren't as organised as we should have been! We're getting in touch with a few child minders, so will definitely check out New Beginnings. Thanks again!
  16. Does anyone have any further reccomendations where there is availability? We've checked out most of the ones reccomended on the forum and aren't having much luck. Our son will be 1 when my wife returns to work and we'd be looking for a nursery 3 days a week. We live up near the plough, but happy to travel anywhere within a 10m radius as we both drive.
  17. I did exactly the same! They won't know what's going on with all these orders coming from ED! As you said, very easy to use and looks great thus far. Whole process took 5m max. 18. I've thought the very same thing on numerous occassions. 19. A bit quiter but up near the Plough there might be a few possibilities. The French place next to the Plough has been vacant since they closed several months ago. It looks like a construction site with scaffolding etc, but no work has been done for months. Simarly the Indian take away across the road next to the butcher's is empty. Again, they started doing work in there around October time, then stopped suddenly. Not quite sure what the story is though. Hopefully you find somewhere, a Burger Bear pop up in ED would be fantastic!
  20. We received our neighbours mail yesterday, so definitely been a change of staff.
  21. When I asked them last week why they were closing the response was "we've all decided to go our seperate way," which therefore seems unlikely they'll be opening up elsewhere unfortunately.
  22. Hi all, Unfortunately won't be able to come tomorrow morning after all :( There have been a few cases of povrovirus/Slap Cheek Syndrome in school so have had to go and get a blood test on Thursday eve to make sure I'm immune. In the mean time time I should avoid contact with other mums-to-be(just to be on the safe side) until I get the results on Monday! Will definitely be there for the next meet up! Claire X
