  12. Fitbit found....if yours get in touch with description and possible time and place where lost :-)
  13. Goose Green toddler group is on every Thursday 10-11.30, apart from during school holidays :-)
  14. My post wasn't meant to offend anyone, I just feel sad when I see a carer, may it be a childminder or a nanny that has very little interest in the child/ren.
  15. I'm not in any way trying to big myself up...I have friends that are nannies, some are Ofsted registered and some are not and they are fabulous nannies! I never stated that ALL nannies are bad!! I only stated what I see and I know they are nannies as we attend the same playgroups every week...I didn't comment on people out with children in the park that I know nothing about! But I think leaving a child in a buggy to cry for 50 minutes as part of discipline is a bit harsh.
  16. I'm a Ofsted registered childminder and I often come across nannies at various playgroups not interacting with the children, sat chatting, flicking through their phone, slightly irritable..I have never witnessed any mistreatment of a child, just a "can't be bothered/I rather be somewhere else" attitude and I usually think "I wonder if the parents know :-( I'm guessing its "easier" to be a nanny as no training, dbs/medical checks are compulsory and it pays better than working in Sainsburys. It took me 11 months to register to become a childminder, countless training and checks...I have a true love for kids which is the main reason for choosing this profession...unfortunately not all people are suitable to work with kids :-( I hope the parents sees the post :-)
  17. I live near Le Nid on East Dulwich Grove, recently opened. Looks really nice, clean and there is usually kids out playing in the garden when I pass, which is a big plus in my book :-)
  18. Thanks
  19. Hi, does anyone know where I can dispose of my lightbulbs (long life) locally? As I'm aware you are not meant to throw them out with your normal household waste.
  20. I have two children that are fluent in Swedish...and my suggestion would be not to give up when they don't want to or seem to loose interest. Mine used to say that they don't want to speak swedish as none of their friends do, but now at 8 and 12, I do believe that I did the right thing not to give up, I have a few friends that has given up and now their children knows none or very little Swedish. But I do tend to not speak Swedish around non-swedish people as its a little inconsiderate :-)) Songs and DVD's helps as well. And apparently children that grows up being bilingual find it easier learning more languages later in life.

    OXO tower

This might seem like a silly question but I have been invited for dinner at the Oxo tower and I'm not sure what the dresscode is like. Ie if you have to dress smart/elegant? Not sure if anyone on here can help a lady in distress:)
