  1. They haven't suggested anything but it has been discussed on this thread and is the conclusion many of us are making. I completed the survey and felt uneasy, the questions were leading in my view. Maybe I'm just a suspicious old cow, who knows. I can honestly say that I've never seen a dog attack, of course they happen but I've not seen it and I use the park twice a day, every day. I have also seen what LD described where people get abuse for having a dog off lead and in the off lead area. Maybe those areas need to be more clearly defined? One side of the park for dogs off lead and the other on? Most of us that have dogs, want these issues remedied. The ones that don't and do as they please, will most likely continue to do so anyway, regardless of what the council decides.
  2. Surely unless you are a dog hater, you wouldn't fill in the survey asking that dogs be banned from the parks? In my mind, once one sector of the community is banned, it opens it up for others to follow. Why ban the dogs and not cyclists/roller blades/picnics/ball games ect. The parks are a public space for us all to use (respectfully). It seems like a slippery slope to campaign to ban any of us. I am a small dog owner that does keep my dog on a lead where instructed and picks up poo! I use Dulwich Park and rarely come across irresponsible owners, but know there are some out there. I generally have trouble with fast cycling while walking there but wouldn't dream of asking cyclists to be banned. Maybe to slow down when pedestrians are about but otherwise the park is there for all of us to enjoy and that's the way it should stay. One bugbear is the litter, especially after a warm weekend. On a Monday morning the guys in the park have mountains of rubbish just dumped there. I'd prefer to petition about getting people to take their crap home to their own bins!
  3. A similar incident happened yesterday evening, near Denmark Hill station. A 16 year old girl punched in the head and phone stolen, guys drove off in a car. Not nice.
  4. After reading about logs being taken from woodlands for firewood, I'd rather move them to a secure nature reserve. Have been told about the one by Maxted Road and I know there is a large one in Devonshire Road in Forest Hill. The logs they live/eat in are large, 6ft long each one and 8 of them in total. The life cycle is 7 years for a stag beetle and most of that is the grub stage. Not sure there would be a safe time to move them? If all goes to plan, I will be moving around September time but whatever the new owners decide to do with the garden is out of my hands, that's why I'd like to move them, so they have a chance somewhere else.
  5. Hi Minder I'm very likely to be moving soon and the garden will get a drastic makeover. I feel rather protective towards them and I doubt the new owners would worry too much about maintaining their habitat. They were fighting last night
  6. Yes, I will do. Thank you.
  7. I seem to have a stag beetle haven in my back garden, found the dog and the cat batting a male around yesterday evening, he must have been 7-8 cm long. There are others about too. Does anyone know if they and the larvae can be moved to the woods/wildlife reserve?
  8. All happened in Druce Road, looked like 4 guys and 2 cars taken away. The helicopter was very low, you could see the pilot!
  9. Think this is it http://www.titantherobot.com/

A little harsh swissjoel there are other people of colour that live here too not all boring and have prams. 11. We were given our first choice (Charter) and all the other parents i've asked were given first choice too.
  12. I walk it everyday and drive it often, bloody pot holes everywhere
  13. I think it should include some of us older ladies in our trollies, that'll learn ya.
  14. The chair looked fine, but the seat was just balanced on top which I didn't notice until I plonked myself on top of it. I was terrified that somebody would walk up the stairs at that precise moment and open the door and get a full on face full, it was a mighty struggle to push myself up and out too. I did see two young men clutching their sides over the other side of the bar that had witnessed it from a side angle, I was too ashamed to find out who they were and ran off to my car for quite a long time. Next time, I'm wearing jeans...
  15. both, quite terrible, though luckily nobody was standing north of me.
  16. Yes Jah you were right, it was the night we met and I shamed myself considerably. I sat on a chair at the top of the stairs but the seat fell through and me with it, leaving me bottom in hole and legs in the air sans something ahem important. chuff x
  17. hmmm at the last one, I had a bit of an unfortunate accident with a chair at the top of the stairs. I do not wish to repeat it... chuff
  18. Erm no, it isn't nice or clever or artistic or anything! Did I/we talk to you late on brum? If so you probably would have seen the mess we made anyway. I'm sure we spoke to you...
  19. I didn't realise we were supposed to be dressing up! Bah, any excuse for a party frock. I don't suppose it mattered anyway as I spend most of my time hiding and sticking the table decorations over myself. Nice to meet the people I did and great to finally meet giggirl after missing each other at Brixton Academy. It was actually too loud to hold a proper conversation though so apologies for any rubbish conversations I might have caused. Was anyone taking photos? I tried but my stupid phone doesn't have a flash. I did get a very red tinged snap of my stickered chest though, just to remind me of the night. Chuff x
  20. think you should drag that nephew of yours along, he seems to have deep pockets. It doesn't count with family ;)
