Weird shapes in the sky Dulwich Village
chuff replied to chuff's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If it was aliens, they obviously decided we were far too boring to bother with and zoomed off somewhere else. -

It was definitely moving like balloons would. The video looks exactly the same as we saw, I’ve no idea where that was taken though. I’m happy with escaped balloons, somehow lit up as an explanation! -

I’ve just blown up one of the other photos, this one looks like Father Christmas. Could be someone’s Christmas display has escaped. -

I was thinking it could be a drone of some type, not plastic bag sized plus it had blue/white light. Not sure how a plastic bag would be lit up like that? it’s just odd and I’d love to know what it was. Just for the record, I wasn’t thinking aliens. -

I’d expect to see some sort of beam if that were the case. It was moving up, like balloons or bubbles, but close up it doesn’t look like that at all. -

Yes, apologies, one too many photos added..,, I’m not sure about them being lanterns, they were a blue/white light. I’d expect lanterns to give off a warm light? -
Did anyone see weird lights in Dulwich Village approx 45 minutes ago? They were at the junction of Woodwarde and Calton Avenue. They moved like bubbles but the close up photos look even stranger. Will try to upload some here. No idea what it was, wondering if it could be a drone?

Edited to say he?s just waltzed in after 4-5 days of adventuring, but I?d still be really interested to know if he has a second home! Hobbes our 5 year old Bengal has gone missing (again). He?s a large, friendly but wary boy. Missing from Woodwarde Road SE22, most likely somewhere near Dulwich Park. I would really like to know if he has another home he visits just to stop worrying. He?s been gone for 5 days now and fearing the worst.

After successfully finding one of my Bengal cats, the other one has now gone missing. This is very unlike him and he has been very content recently so I don?t think he?s gone deliberately. Please keep your eyes (and ears) open for Hobbes, he?s a 6 year old male Bengal, microchipped, very friendly, very vocal and very dopey. He has very distinctive rosettes, large stripes on his back legs and is quite a big cat. ?100 reward for his safe return. Any sightings please message me or call 07590047844 Thank you

Number plates stolen off our car today.
chuff replied to Frankito's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I?ve checked the registrations and I thought the tax had just run out on both of the number plates? I?ve no doubt they?re cloned plates from an unsuspecting car owner or stolen. The fact that they came to swap the plates 3 hours after taking something out of it, makes me think they might have had the second set made up specifically to disguise the car. Unless of course there?s another blue golf r nearby that have had them stolen. I?m not sure where to even start with speaking to Southwark and as for the police not being interested because the current plates are not reported as stolen or of interest, it really bothers me. There?s obviously something wrong and the police know cars get cloned to sell on or to use for robberies. There?s more than I?m saying on here for obvious reasons but this isn?t just a case of someone parking their car and looking like they?re up to something. It also has completely flat tyres now too. -

I have reported it to the police, so have multiple neighbours but we keep getting told that the car is not of interest, most likely because the plates are wrong. I don't think the police are at all bothered with car theft but it could easily be linked to burglaries and muggings in the area too. -

It's a huge thing, stealing to order and having plates that match the make, model and colour so if reported to the police then not already reported as stolen. If anyone has had a blue Golf R stolen, then I know where it is (for now, it will be gone tonight). -

Is your number plate either VN15 ZJE or BF15 RVY? if so then they have both been on a stolen car in Druce Road today. The VN plates were on it this morning and they came to swap them to BF this afternoon. -

Try animal aunts, they have experienced pet sitters that will come to your home. They aren't cheap but they are very very good with pets, especially those with extra needs. We always use them for holidays as one of our dogs has a disability and can't walk very far.

Dulwich estate properties ?un-mortgageable??!
chuff replied to localyocal's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Is it a house the Dulwich Estate currently own or just a house within the Estate boundary? It doesn't really make sense to me either way but people have definitely bought and sold within the boundary recently so it could be an issue with that particular property or with estate owned properties. The fees charged to live within the Estate boundary are only a few hundred pounds a year so even if a charge were to be top of the list, I can't imagine it would have much bearing on the mortgage amount. I've just remortgaged with Scottish Widows on my house within the boundaries and there weren't any issues. -
I had a similar thing happen with someone riding on the pavement in the Village one evening, but he was wearing a full motorbike crash helmet wrapped with flashing lights. He really swore at me to get out of the way and shouted a lot but I couldn't understand a lot of it through the helmet, thankfully. He also stopped the bike once he'd passed me and looked like he was going to stop for a row. Could be the same guy without the helmet as the abuse came out of nowhere and for no reason other than me walking home on the pavement. He wasn't young, in his 50's at a guess. The flashing lights and crash helmet did make me think that he had other problems going on, not just me being in the way so I hurried home a little gobsmacked but gob firmly shut.

If you don't get a bill from them once a year then unlikely you're inside their boundary.
