  2. Yes, I remember the Co-Op, used to do some shopping there yearrrrs ago. It was a bit grubby as I remember but there was no option, well other than Somerfield (then Gateway, which was also a bit grubby).
  3. "a few streets away..." how many is a few, it's more like a mile away because she lives on my street, Ivydale Road, that would make it about 15-20 streets away by my reckoning. ;-). These articles don't do their research very well do they MadWorld74 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > An article in todays Gaurdian has said that the > victim was known to her attacker, who was also > female. 4. I can see that part of East Dulwich will become a much noisier area. It's very quiet and peaceful right now but with the arrival of some 800 or so boys... The local parade of shops (including the new coffee shop everyone's been talking about) will probably become haunts for the boys wanting to buy lunch, the papershop will have a "only 2 school kids" sign up, with queues of boys waiting to enter. The 63 bus will become over-popular as it is the nearest bus to the school, there will be gangs of boys roaming through the local streets and Peckham Rye Park. I remember when it was a girls' school but I'm sure there weren't as many pupils as planned for this new school. The problem I do remember is the one of girls getting knocked down crossing the main road but boys are even more boisterous and rumbustious. I would imagine pupils will be coming from all the surrounding areas, especially this side of Peckham and local housing estate just across the park and not just the well-to-do areas of East Dulwich and Nunhead. It's nice to have a new school in the area but I can see soooo many problems that come with it.
  5. I've noticed the decrease in traffic on Ivydale. I think that the 6 months of roadworks HAVE had an impact. It seems people have had to find alternative routes to get to where they want and they haven't returned. I've even managed to find a parking space on my road several times, rather than having to park around the corner in Limesford.
  6. It could be the guy who I often see wandering around the area, especially Ivydale Road. He lives on Ivydale Road and I'm sure he isn't all there mentally, usually a bit drunk/high on something. He was knocking on the doors asking for change a few months ago, I told him where to go and he just left sheepishly. You're right though, she shouldn't have led him to her home. Ivydale and surrounding areas are usually quite safe though, I've walked home late at night countless times with no worries.
  7. Well I frequently see the foxes in Nunhead waiting at the bus stops late at night, they obviously haven't read the timetables. We just give each other a nod of acknowledgment as we pass by, I haven't the heart to tell them the last bus has gone.
