  1. Another shout out for Aston and the amazing work he does on fixing up houses. Aston did quite a few jobs on my rental flat and provided a receipt which is important for tax purposes. My tenants were overjoyed with the work he did on the flat. Aston communicated with me about what was required, provided a reasonable quote and came in under the quote. Happy all round.

  3. Thank you all for your views. We have decided to postpone until the situation has improved. I know the govt is currently allowing construction work however this does not appear to be in the public's best interest.
  4. Hello, i am seeking advice from people who are having house extensions or about to start an extension. I am curious to know what builders are saying about working through the social distancing measures. We are due to start works in April and think we should postpone until the situation is under control. The builder is keen to start the work. Builders need to work. However we worried about the work will start then need to stop for an indefinite period. We plan to rent another property and cannot afford to rent and pay a mortgage over a long period of time. Any advice is much appreciated Keep safe
  5. Hi Hugo has been found safe and quite wet...we are very happy and relieved. Hugo is a very much loved member of our household. He is mainly an indoor cat and not that used to being outside. Hugo went missing last night 18/07/2019 about 6pm from our back garden (Athenlay Road SE15) which backs onto an alley way on Brenchley Gardens SE23. Hugo is a large, greyish/brown/white cat with a big bushy tail. He is gentle giant. Attached is the flyer. If you have seen him or know anything about his whereabouts please contact me. Hugo is microchipped so if you take him to a shelter or vet, they will be about to contact us. He wasn't wearing a collar. Thanks
  6. Thank you Peckham Rose.
  7. I am seeking advice on the council's service charges with respect to Warm Dry & Safe 2015/16 batch 3 major works. I have received a letter from Southwark stating that the final bill has been received and in March 2019 I will need to pay a further ?899.53, having paid ?3,828.19 in 2016 for repair works on a leasehold flat in Philip Walk SE15. The work untaken apparently repairs to windows, external walls & roofs, which required larger extent of repair than expected. Since this work was carried out, the flat has had increased levels of damp which has required me to get it repaired. It appears the gutter was unfinished which has caused water hitting the wall creating the damp. I still have to get the guttering fixed. The so called repairs to the window remain incomplete and unfinished. The company patched up rotting wood and left the window unpainted in the inside. The external work was a slap dash job of painting rather than fixing the damp. This has created further damp on the inside. I would appreciate advice on what I can do to challenge this and how to go about it? Should I seek advice from a solicitor? Thanks MS
  8. Also on Athenlay RD- major water leak near the park. Rang Thames Water and said they are working on it. Also said that it water should be back on around 9.30 so hopefully not too much longer.

  13. I needed a plumber in an emergency due to broken tap in my bathroom. I called Aria and he and his brother came out in the evening to isolate the problem and the next day came back to replace the tap, which he even got for me. This was the second time I had used his services. He is brilliant and have no hesitation in recommending him. Reasonable priced as well.
  14. Would highly recommend Aria. Needed a leaking pipe fixed quickly, he responded immediately and worked around my availability. Very reasonably priced and most importantly trustworthy. Excellent EDF find from positive recommendations and will definitely being using Aria's services again.
  15. I call Oz everyday to speak to family. For those with an iPhone I use FaceTime vocal, for other I use Whatapps and Viber- both apps and no extra cost. However the person you are calling also needs the apps and you need 3/4g or WIFI. Otherwise speak to your phone line provider about packages.
  16. Hi I live on Athenlay road and would also be interested in joining Neigbourhood Watch. My partner works from home some days so will ask him if he saw anything unusually. We live near the new villas and there is always plenty of people around. It may be worth speaking with the workers. Let me know about the neighbourhood watch
  17. Pedler on Peckham Rye- the big booth at the back, they do great brunch large selection.
  18. Hi we can highly recommend Aston, he came and cleared out very over grown, jungle garden, and did a fantastic job of fixing the fence. Aston was completely flexible. He is reasonably priced, friendly and easy going. He also rehung a door and helped relocate a fridge for my partner at short notice. Happy to PM photos of the fence.
  19. Does anyone why nunhead lane near the pub is closed? Loads of police cars and no through traffic?
  20. I also can highly recommend Aston. He came recommended via EDF after I made a request for a handyman to fix our very broken bed. He is efficient, very friendly and responsibly priced. We will be getting him back in a few weeks to clear our garden and do odd repairs around the house. His number is 07490947355.
  21. Truly gutted, I don't have children and only went there for the great coffee and almond croissant. It will be missed 😭😭😭
  22. Soz just checked the main gossip section and hell yes seems to be true!!!
  23. Posted this news in the main gossip section and it is not accurate, the cafe is closed Sunday for a private function. Caused me a moment of panic......
  24. Oh good, panic over- just need to find a stop gap for Sunday morning.... Rosie's is my number two- phew 😀
  25. could someone please confirm or clarify the situation with cafe trio in Peckham, that it's closing its door this Sunday. Finally found a cafe that understands the milk, coffee ratio, the machine is calibrated correctly to create an almost perfect coffee. If the rumour is true it's very sad!
