charity event in LL sunday 22nd june
pretty polly replied to pretty polly's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
from what i gather, the staff are doing a no appointment system, so you just go and get your hair cut, and donate ?15 towards the charity, but i thought it was also nice that they are doing a raffle, and apparently lots of good prizes from restaurants and shops and some famous bods?? not sure who? but the girl said they are the local dudes, hope that helps! ps nice that someone asked what was happening rather than just being concerned about ME using a sunbed!! -

thanks annaj, i think and like to hope that people do know what risks are involved!! and if they are not bothered, then they only have themselves to blame!!!...... never the less, nice to see well and able people making the effort to raise money, and they are actually a hairdressers not a tanning salon, and i do hope that local people will support them, from what i have seen so far in ED, people are genuinely wanting to keep the spirit of niceness going, which is why i love it here so much. i was most cheesed off the say the least, when i recieved a ticket on sunday night @ 11.30 PM!!!!! on LL???? after careful consideration ...... i rang and had a little BF down the phone to the nice people who take your money, and they told me they would consider the appeal, if i wrote in with all the details. has anyone else got a ticket at that time before??? i was parked outside G Burger?

well, just to reply all, i have had to use a sunbed on the odd occasions in the summer, as i am going away, and unfortunately i suffer with very bad prickly heat in the sun and hot climates!, so a couple of sessions helps me not suffer so bad!!! and really it wasn't the issue i was writing about!! i was just commenting on the fact that i thought it was a nice gesture to see that people where happy to give up their time in aid of the charity!! ( not specifically this one , but any charity). i understand the sunbed issue, but considering my sister died of cancer, i am fully aware of the irony in that i stated i used the sunbed! never mind though ...... it has moved away from the point i tried to make when starting the thread -
i had a sunbed today @ village way, and was happy to see that they are having a charity in aid of macmillan cancer support group, i was so chuffed to that, i had a close experience with them a few years ago, and they were a great bunch of people, so thought i'd let everyone know!! , its on sunday 22 nd june, and all the money goes direct to the charity, i think its nice to see people giving up their time for things like this, i think we should try to support them , after all, we never know if we will need their help one day!!

i did actually want to write a letter, so was happy to hear about the scheme in place there, i will do it!!! i think the docs and nurses don't get enough thanks for the great jobs they do! god only knows so many of us are ill at the sight of blood! thank god these people are willing to fix us all up, god knows what the health system would become without them!!

hi all, i just had a horrible trip to A&E @ kings,(and a two night stay in) and wanted to say how great they all were there, as a new comer to the area, i have listened to many local people i have met, who have had lots of bad experiences ,so i was not happy! but they were great, very helpful, dealt with all the tests really quickly, and were all nice to me, i just wanted to see if anyone had anything nice to say about all the docs an nurses there.....most people have been horrible about them all! thanks to all the staff there, they were under pressure!! probs with non working equipment, not enough staff on shifts, but yet still managed to do their jobs as best as they could!with a smile their faces :)

OMG!!! what a terrible ordeal you have been through! u should let us all have their address, i walk up there sometimes, and am scared of dogs!! and i am sure if these idiots left their dog to do such a horrific things to a little girl and didnt even try to do anything would surely leave the dog to do something like that again!! i think that it is terrible that the police won't do anything about it, your poor little sweet heart!! funny thing is , compare this to the guy who was given a criminal record for an over full bin...... there's something worse with this system some where! good luck!! i think you will have alot of support from the local community if you took this further, after all it does concern all doesn't it!!! -
with some luck townleygreen, it wont be so bad, it would be such a shame for us to find it even harder to go and travel, and to take in the beauties some countries hold!!
-

today, i think i was completly praying for the earth to open up and swallow me up after after putting my foot in it with a friend of a friend, i asked how his elderly dad was ...... god rest his soul as he passed away not so long ago, ( my wolly friend didnt mention it!!!) but the icing on the cake for me was......it was his boyfriend!!! not dad! shameful! i went as red as a beetroot! so embarassed! just stood there with my mouth open!! der!!!!!
