Hi there expectant mums! My name is Anna and I live in East Dulwich. I am doing a part-time masters in Child Development and as part of the course I need to observe a new baby in their home environment. I am currently looking for a mum who is either due to give birth in the next couple of months (or who has recently had a baby) who might be interested in participating? The aim of the observation is for me to learn more about the growth and changes that occur in a baby between birth and 18 months and to develop my observational skills. The hour-long observation takes place once a week in the family home. The observation is intended to be entirely non obtrusive and the family can get on with their day to day routine as usual. INFANT OBSERVATION Are you in the late stages of pregnancy (due before Christmas) or have you very recently given birth? I am doing a masters at Birkbeck University in child development, for which I need to observe a baby for an hour once a week in their home environment. The purpose of the observation is to help me get acquainted with the growth and changes that occur in a baby between birth-18 months and to develop/improve my observational skills. The mother/father/family won't have to do anything in particular, just continue with their usual routine (even if the baby is asleep).
