  1. Thanks to everyone who's PMed me. Looking forward to meeting you on Tuesday. Nicky has suggested that we might bring along some previous projects and/or what we are working on at the moment as a kind of ice breaker. I think this sounds like a great idea. I'm sure we'll have lots to talk about. I'll try and find lots of interesting things to play with so the little ones are sufficiently entertained too...
  2. Great that there are so many of you interested and thanks for all the suggestions about venues. I think it might be a good idea for us to have an initial meet up where we can discuss the possibilities and which venues/times/days would suit us best. So, how about next Tuesday 15th January, 10am to 11:30am at my house, which is near Ruskin Park. It's not too far from Denmark Hill station and the 176/40/185 and 68 bus routes and the parking is free until 12pm. If you let me know by PM that you can come then I will send you my address. Looking forward to meeting some of you then. Glenda
  3. Excellent. I'm more than happy to teach you to knit in exchange for some crochet tips! Moo too sells sewing thread in the crafty section at the back. I think there's also a stall in the ED warehouse. The curtain shop at the forest hill end of lordship lane also has some I would imagine.
  4. Great! I don't know how much crafting we'll manage to get done with kids in tow (my two are 3 years old and 15 months) - we can but try! It would be nice to meet up anyway. I think we should try and arrange a date for an initial meet up. I'm happy to host at my house. I was thinking not until the new year, but if people are keen we could try and squeeze one in before Christmas (although I notice lots of you won't be on maternity leave until the spring). Mornings would be best for me as my older one is at nursery then, and I'd prefer earlier in the week, but I'm pretty flexible.
  5. Great that you are all keen! I hoped it wasn't just me. I'm going to have a think about the logistics. I think the biggest problem will be finding a venue that is toddler friendly. Please let me know if you have any thoughts.
  6. Hi, I was wondering whether there were any other stay at home mothers (or fathers) out there who like knitting or sewing or other crafty pursuits and would be interested in meeting up during the day time. I know there are lots of knitting groups that meet up in the evenings but with my husband's unpredictable work hours it's difficult for me to get out of the house once my kids are in bed. I was thinking that it might be fun to start up a similar kind of group during the day, at which babies and toddlers would be most welcome, where people with an interest in craft could get together, drink tea, eat cake and chat about knitting and things, and perhaps even do some crafting if we can find a way for the children to be suitably entertained. I realise that this is a funny time of year for starting new things, but perhaps if anyone is keen we could try and get something going in the new year.
  7. I drank a couple of cups a day from 30-something weeks. James came super quick and on his due date. Wouldn't like to say that these two facts were linked though! I never really thought about it being problematic for a VBAC.
  8. I'm a local cloth nappy advisor for Fill Your Pants (www.fill-your-pants.com). If you think it might be helpful I'd be very happy to meet up to have a chat and show you the nappies I have in my demo kit. Being able to see and have a play with some nappies might help you make your decision. Glenda
  9. I found some in the Fourway Pharmacy in Herne Hill. This was a few months ago though.
