  1. via your own bank account I would think!
  2. I've been on Virgin for over 10 years. First on Pay as u Go then on contract. I've never had any trouble with the signal (except for a few weeks when they first linked up with EE & Orange last year) and I've used it from Peckam Library up to Crystal Palace, both outside and inside shops and houses !!!!! Speaking to people on EE, it seems the fancier and more complicated the phone, the worst the signal pick-up.
  3. Saw a chap wearing a straw hat, lying on the pavement, painting the bollard near to the lights last Wednesday about 1pm. His work makes a big difference to the drab bollards.
  4. A few from W C Fields: Now don't say you can't swear off drinking; it's easy. I've done it a thousand times. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house unless they have a well-stocked bar. A woman drove me to drink, and I'll be a son-of-a-gun but I never even wrote to thank her. I am free of all prejudices. I hate everyone equally. A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money. Never cry over spilt milk, because it may have been poisoned. Don't worry about your heart, it will last you as long as you live.
  5. Hi Hilili Not disregarding the other suggestions raised, have you been able to set up any arrangements with any local newsagents in the area yet? Please let us know ASAP so that those of us interested can contribute.

  7. 4.05 snow had stopped but looks like it is starting up again on East Dulwich/Peckham borders, Roads connecting Grove Vale and Adys Road have already started to ice over and cars are sliding about. Assume that other back roads will be in the same condition!!!
  8. Ref James Basrber's claim of a 700 ticket allocation for Peckham Library, I don't know where he got his figures from but as we were in the first 5 of the Peckham queue, the librarian told us that there were only 200 tickets allocated to Peckham Library!!!
  9. Having gone through this with both my in-laws and a very dear neighbour friend I found the only thing I could do was to ring all the people they were likely to ring over & over again and beg them to show infinite patience for the Altzheimer sufferer no matter how frustrating it was. I found most people were willing to comply after a personal request was made of them.
