    Rugby matters

    Me too on McGrath.
  2. "To genuinely provide burial for all - especially those for whom burial is the only option - Southwark would have to provide it out of the borough. They promised to investigate this in 2012 and never have. " Genuine question: if Southwark used new space for the purposes of burial (eg "HO Nature Corridor") then orthodox religious groups could have dedicated burial provision couldn't they?
  3. The only solution surely is to create new cemetery space on the "Honor Oak Nature Corridor" and the Rec. Will SSW support that as a way through this?
  4. There's a big event in Warwick Gardens, peckham. Just off Bellenden Road. 1-6 on Saturday.
  5. The solution is clearly to create new burial space on the "nature corridor." Then this could clearly be made suitable for all religions. Surely we can all unite behind that?
  6. Best thing to do I thing. Get off, walk, remount.
  7. I went over Blackfriars this morning. As Beulah says, utter chaos. Three light changes to get through. It seems fine at the south end.

I searched out Stanlake's grave last year. As you say, it's among the scrub in the "wooded" bit of COC. The Coldstream Guards association has cleared a path and the immediate area around it so it's accessible. And they've put a stone up (outside CWGC's locus as it's a Crimean VC). Stanlake was a bit of a character by the sound of it. Died impoverished in Camberwell.
  9. The last redoubt of the campaign seems now to be to demand an archaeological survey of COC. So trees, through body fluids, to religious discrimination, veterans and now archaeology. Is this the football equivalent of sending your keeper up for a corner?
  10. Albert McKenzie, the only World War 1 VC in COC, died of Spanish Flu in November 1918.
  11. Why have FoNC banned SSW from their open day?
  12. Possibly. I suppose jumpers for goalposts on the Greendale AstroTurf might be an option. It was their old pitch after all.
  13. The Supporters Trust are an observer. They don't have the power to deliver a plan B. Meanwhile the club will lurch into an uncertain future.
  14. Indeed. Not sure where that will leave Dulwich Hamlet.
  15. Do you have a sense about how influential Southwark's view will be at the Planning Appeal?
  16. It is so disgustingly cynical. Because you know it's all about the tactics.
  17. There has been a huge spike in the number of incidents around Forest Hill Road.
  18. Then ban professional dog walkers from Nunhead or license them. Easily done. But don't stop people who have for years walked their own dogs in Nunhead with no trouble whatsoever. What FONC are proposing is not in the public interest.
  19. That FONC link is an eye-opener. Very anti-dog. Is it a problem dogs running over old graves? I absolutely agree that dogs should be on leads near the new internments, but dogs on leads elsewhere is an extreme measure.
  20. My car had its side passenger window put through on Monday morning (4am) and an empty bag was taken. We heard the alarm go off and some sort of motorised vehicle drive off. So could be related. This was in Forest Hill, just up the hill from Woodvale.
  21. And further up from here, there's a skip encroaching on the pavement
  22. I had a family of foxes under my shed. They move out when the foxes get older. So after Summer.
  23. This is why the club needs to be fan owned. God knows where the money goes
