Can anyone tell me where the wildflower meadow in Peckham Rye Park is? I've seen the council has put one in but I've not seen it on my walks in the park. I'm guessing its in the part of the park I don't normally go to as I thought it was grass fields with little of interest unless you wanted to picnic or have somewhere for the children to play.

Apologies if there is another thread this could have been added to. I didn't see one when I searched and thought it might be of interest. Southwark CCG will be offering a clinic for the Pfizer vaccine at Millwall on Saturday Details of all popup clinics on https://selondonccg.nhs.uk/what-we-do/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/pop-up-clinics/

Fat is more of an issue than cholesterol for cheese. Everything in moderation springs to mind. This is from the British Heart Foundation. https://www.bhf.org.uk/informationsupport/heart-matters-magazine/nutrition/cheese Cheese definitely isn?t totally out, just smaller portions or less often.

2nd dose bookings moving date earlier

Here are details of pop-up clinics for those who weren't given a date for the second doe when they got their first one. Not sure how rebooking would work with these https://selondonccg.nhs.uk/what-we-do/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/pop-up-clinics/ -
Crystal Palace Football Club: Which vaccine?
AylwardS replied to shoshntosh's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It looks like its Astra Zeneca from an Age UK Bromley and Greenwich flyer I found online. Details of popup clinics in the area can be found on https://swlondonccg.nhs.uk/covid/where-can-you-get-vaccinated/vaccination-walk-in-clinics/ https://swlondonccg.nhs.uk/covid/where-can-you-get-vaccinated/ https://selondonccg.nhs.uk/what-we-do/covid-19/covid-19-vaccine/pop-up-clinics/ Some have information on what vaccine / any age ranges they are for / first dose / second dose. -
Goose Green councillors - how can we help?
AylwardS replied to jamesmcash's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
We had a leaflet through the door from those in favour of the road closures. Agree or not they have a suggestion I wish I?d put in my response to the consultation. Suggest a crossing at the East Dulwich Grove / Lordship Lane junction. One has been needed for some time, more so now. If you?ve not responded the consultation is open until 11 July https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/dulwich-review/ -

@Tutorse22 The experimental measures are currently up for consultation. The map on this page is the most recent I know of https://www.southwark.gov.uk/transport-and-roads/improving-our-streets/live-projects/dulwich-review but hopefully with this and the one on the page posted above you can see what will affect your journey. In Dulwich Village there are timed restrictions if travelling from the South Circular, through the village to turn right onto East Dulwich Grove between 8-10am and 3-6pm. Going the other way through the village is fine.

Denmark Hill vaccination center - parking
AylwardS replied to katezerooo's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Depending on where you are coming from / going to you might be as quick to walk. As has been said parking zones make it difficult, though if you lived in one of the roads nearby 5-6 years ago you might think parking now is better than it was then. By the time you wait for a bus there?s only a few minutes in the time difference for walking or taking the bus from East Dulwich station. Walk up Greendale, listen to birds and no stress from driving / parking. My husband has walked to his last two hospital appointments (he was working from home at the time and was out of contact for the same or even less time) -
My husband and I had our second dose of AZ a week ago. The symptoms to look out for re blood clots were stressed but also that there?d been no reports from a second dose. We both had a sore arm at the injection site, mine was worse than the first time but it lasted less long than the first jab for both of us. I know others who had worse reactions but no one felt anywhere as bad as those who had Covid. Having the jab not only protects me but also brings overall infections and hospitalisation down. Hopefully meaning those who?ve still not gone back to work can later in the month.

cameras on new flower pot junctions

Get off and push and then get back on. Its quicker than going round and not only legal but imagine how you'd feel if you hit someone for the sake of a couple of minutes. Probably cost you too - lost wages, insurance wouldn't pay out for any damage as it was not legal to use a vehicle there. Think the road should reopen longer term there is an option to say, if you?ve got a suggestion - reopen to two wheel vehicles to help local businesses then the consultation on the measures, including this road closure, is open until 11 July https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/dulwich-review/ -
There have been various claims about face masks / the Covid vaccine that have been looked at and dismissed. There may be some concerns but overall wearing a mask, if you are not exempt, is a minor inconvenience and I see not wearing one if you can as a sign of disregard for other people. I don?t wear one to protect me but to protect others. I?m not the only person going into that shop / getting on that bus that day - how many people will that member of staff come into contact with? I wear a face mask for 5 hours at a time twice a week and it may not be something I?d choose to do but it?s ok. I stopped wearing a mask and visor when the choice was given to wear one or the other not both as we were previously. As a glasses wearer and needing to have my hair in a ponytail both were doable but I judged that the mask gave better protection and for me was the best option. There are between 10 and 20 people each wearing masks for between 5 and 7 hours at a time and it?s the gloves we need to wear not the masks that are more of an issue. Re the OP?s specific questions I?ve never had, or heard anyone say they?ve got, a headache. I can?t say about wearing a mask at the gym as brisk walking is the most energetic I get. Yoga I would say should be fine - I?ve worn a mask for an hour?s walk with no issue. I?ve seen people running and cycling in masks. The OP gave links to websites that were a bit medical for me and from the US. The BBC did an article about some of the claims masks were deadly. The verdict was there was no evidence for the claims. If you want to read the BBC article you can find it here https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/53108405

Re the 28 day limit EDRH1114090399 quoted there are exceptions. These may not be current as this is the original legislation but there is an exemption of up to 6 months for the issue of a penalty in regulation 10 of The Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2007/3483/regulation/10/made and DVLA may well be slow at replying given Covid. I?ve not heard of a legal obligation to respond in line with Council policy. EDRH1114090399 can you provide details of the Act / Regulations that make this a legal requirement?

Alex_b thanks for the correction. Hope everyone gets the point.

This is not new, although I couldn?t find another thread via search, but we?ve had a number of calls over the last few weeks so it?s current and with more people working at home and using their internet people might be more likely to give the information requested. The call says there are issues with broadband speeds in the area or someone has accessed on your connection. Well those are the two we had. BT Openreach don?t provide broadband to customers direct - they provide Virgin, Plusnet etc. This was news to me as my husband sorts anything related to this. I use it and know how to reboot the router but that?s about it. BT Openreach say on their website ?Openreach will never ask you for personal information like bank details ? either in person, over the phone or by email. We?ll also never ask to remotely access your computer, phone or tablet. So if someone gets in touch saying they?re from Openreach and asks for any personal information, don?t give it to them.?

I believe the consultation on the Dulwich road measures has been mentioned on here but if you need details it is open until 11 July https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/dulwich-review/ I may have missed this on a post on this thread, and if so apologies, but as I walked along East Dulwich Grove today I had a thought that a one way system might work for the Council and for those using the roads. Although I live in the area and walk down Melbourne Grove every week I?ve not driven down it for years - since the footway parking was removed. Elsie Road could stay closed off - this is used by children to access the primary school. Derwent Grove and Melbourne Grove could be reopened and made one way in opposite directions. This would halve traffic on each of these roads, reduce traffic on East Dulwich Grove and provide access to businesses / parking. The older children should have / need to develop road sense. We live in London and its never going to be traffic free. The status quo doesn?t work. Closing streets to traffic, with timed restrictions or planters, doesn?t work for all locations.

Although this thread is dealing with individual penalties those reading it might want to respond to the formal consultation which will decide if the current experimental restrictions are made permanent. The consultation is open until 11 July https://consultations.southwark.gov.uk/environment-leisure/dulwich-review/

I'm not under 40 so can't reply personally to your question but I found this which might be of interest. An alternative should be preferentially offered according to guidance. JCVI guidance states ?in addition to those aged under 30, unvaccinated adults aged 30 - 39 years who are not in a clinical priority group at higher risk of severe COVID-19 disease, should be preferentially offered an alternative to the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, where possible and only where no substantial delay or barrier in access to vaccination would arise. This is taken from JCVI announcement regarding AstraZeneca Vaccine and next steps, the full guidance can be found at https://www.england.nhs.uk/coronavirus/wp-content/uploads/sites/52/2021/05/C1279-jcvi-announcement-regarding-astrazeneca-vaccine-and-next-steps-7-may-2021.pdf There is a table on this page that outlines the possible risks for various ages https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-vaccination-and-blood-clotting/covid-19-vaccination-and-blood-clotting#which-vaccine-will-you-be-offered I remember it being reported the risk was less than a car journey many of us probably did without thinking before all this. Horrible for those who suffer and their loved ones but that needs to be weighed up against the availability of an alternative / wait for vaccination and the high chance of catching Covid which could result in disease or long Covid. I?m glad I have no choice I?ve already had my first dose and the guidance is clear I have to have the same second dose.

Me and my husband are in the same position. Last time we got more than one text. We?d booked at Tessa Jowell when the text came through for the national booking. Wait a few days and you?ll probably get a text from Tessa Jowell. Bear in mind that there are now a number of us due second doses sooner than expected as the government changed the spacing from 12 to 8 weeks. Those giving the vaccines / managing vaccine centres may well have had only a few hours extra notice on a Friday afternoon. Doses they have available are probably already allocated and getting more / finding staff to give them will need planning. Also Southwark may well be lower down the priority list - cases are below the average for England, case numbers are so low locally they are suppressed on the interactive map so there may be priority to send available doses to areas with higher cases where there are those eligible who haven?t even had their first dose. Slow the spread elsewhere and save families losing a loved one against a couple more weeks of minimising contact seems reasonable to me. If your situation allows be patient. If your circumstances mean getting the second does ASAP is important to you take up the offer when you get it.
