Clair47 replied to Clair47's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi De Hi Campers, Hope festival have just put tickets on sale for Saturday to Sunday for ?30.00 including camping. The forecast says sunshine!!! It doesn't give children ticket price info so if interested, maybe email them as they wouldn't expect children to pay that price. Maybe post response here. http://www.hopefestival.co.uk/ Enjoy! -

Thanks that made me chuckle Dopamine1979. Emailed bee jet company they couldn't guarantee it would get rid of them. They said it may just pacify them. Think I will have to contact pest control to see if they can remove without harming them. We've had two big ones fly in and the back door was only open a little while. Love bees but a scaredy cat when they come to close.

Hi Dulwich Bee Keeper, That's brilliant to know. If we use the spray, will they just go and make a hive successfully somewhere else? If we leave it will they increase in numbers till September? Thanks for replying very helpful. Kind Regards Clair

Hi, We have just found two fluffy bumble bee nests, nesting in the soffits of our property. I don't want them killed or block their hole up. As bees are important to us. I have read that if they aren't an inconvenience, to leave them. However one of them is above by my son's bedroom window. Some of them are huge fluffy ones. Any ideas as to how unwanted bees nests are dealt with?

Thanks for all feedback, definitely helping. I never knew VW owned so many makes of cars.
-
Thank you for the offer of a piggy back. You made me chuckle! I've got your message STAY CLEAR OF RENAULT!!! Loud and clear. Thanks
-
Trying not to stray off path of my short listed cars as its taken a couple weeks to get it down to those cars as it is. Just after feedback to help narrow it down. However golf was on there as I thought similar size to the Peugeot, just forgot to add it on my list at time of typing. It's hard trying to keep all the family happy with a car that everybody likes. Especially when my 7yr old just wants to repair our old T reg focus. Or get a blue car that he likes. haha Thanks for response though!
-
I didn't realise they were both owned by VW, interesting. Helps to narrow down the make of cars. I do like the shape of a golf as well so will add to list above. Thanks
-
Someone smashed my into car and left no details (how lovely). However the cost to get it repaired has made me think about getting another car. I have looked at Seat Altea's (my FAV so far) & Leon, Peugeot 306, Audi A3 or A2 & Renault scenic. I'm thinking smaller car as mine is an estate, but not sure if we'll miss the boot. Does anyone have the above mentioned cars? As i like to know how reliable, economical & comfortable they are. My car is a ford focus estate and has not caused me any problems at all. But I fancy driving something different. I do have a family, do like to go camping occasionally, we don't want to feel too cramped in the car on long journeys. Any response re above cars would be helpful! Thanks

Yes it was for the Mencap Spellathon. Our school won Woo Hoo! Our children are really pleased. Not only are we the best spelling school we also are the best fundraising school and we have the top speller in school as well, he spelt 51,109 words. Songs I used in assembly were "celebration", we are the champions and I found one on iTunes, which was created for a schools by the early years collection called "well done". Nice simply tune. I was just wondering if there were more modern celebration songs rather than taking them back to the classics. But it goes to show some of the oldies are the best or no song writers have wanted to celebrate anything big.

Hi, What is the best song to use to celebrate winning something very special. I know Queen 'we are the champions' and cool and the gang 'celebration'. But are there any others that are just as good? Ideas please!

Elfrida Primary School in Bellingham is helping Mencap, by participating in a sponsored spellathon to raise money for people with a learning disability. So far we have raised ?2125.00. They have spelt an astonishing 332,532 words correctly. Please help by sponsoring our children who spell so well for this worthy cause. The competition ends this Monday 25/3/13. So if you'd like to donate please click on our link: https://www.justgiving.com/Elfrida-Primary-School-Spellathon Or text a donation to: 70070 Text the word: HIVE63 Followed by amount: ?3 (or whatever you would like to donate) This has been an amazing way to raise much needed money for Mencap, whilst helping children to spell. Two jobs in one, Well Done Mencap, Great Job Elfrida & Thank you to all who have sponsored them!
-
Just to keep you updated, our pupils have now spelt 328,164 words correctly and raised ?1750.00 for Mencap. https://www.justgiving.com/Elfrida-Primary-School-Spellathon Click on the above link to find out more.

In reply to the above. Nearly all of our parents have donated by their children taking part in the activities I have organised to raise funds for the school, and sponsor forms are being returned this week. Our pupils have worked so hard! What is wrong with putting our link to hopefully raise more money for Mencap? Our pupils have raised awareness of Mencap's great work and spellathon as they were featured in local newspapers for our their brilliant achievements on behalf of Mencap. Think how proud they will be if they can become the best fundraising school for Mencap just by spelling their hearts out. So I do think our link is appropriate because what they have done so far is amazing, our just giving page is set up by Mencap and donations go immediately to them. To date they have now spelt 325,215 words correctly and have remained the top spelling school since 22/11/12. With many of our pupils in the top ten on various leaderboards, one of which is in 1st place, spelling 47,368 words. Our pupils are taking what they are doing for Mencap seriously whilst enjoying it at the same time. They deserve a huge credit, seems spelling isn't every child's favourite and the majority of ours just don't want to stop.
