This could look like a lot or nothing ... 27000 festival goers and 1000s bau users???? I think if you walk through the park you have to agree there was a good effort made to clear up

I’m not a Southwark council stooge I’m a city drone working for the man in the square mile… I’ve been an East Dulwich resident from 2007. I lost access to my previous account my new account is from 2012 as mentioned. its unbelievably narrow minded to think that there is no local support for the festival. I would say that 8/10 of my local friends do. OK they/we are the types that like a party. The two that are mildly annoyed are dog walkers who do moan about having to use the other side of the park… but again they don’t hate it. I take the point that although only 3 days of noise, access to the park is restricted for longer but there is another mooosive bit of grass right next to it that people can use … ie the Rye common part of the park. I feel London’s open spaces should be for everyone EVEN those that like to listen music and dance in the open air. AND those that want to use it for quiet contemplation. I would also like to highlight that nightclubs and venues across UK are under pressure and closing at a shocking rate. A large event like this not only supports the artists playing and the ‘scene. ’ It also provides traffic and income at local south London venues used for pre and post events/ drinking. We should all be proud of the musical culture the UK has to offer and in particular it’s leading contribution to electronic dance music. There needs to be more support for the reducing number of venues and events.

The ridiculous hyperbole about the park being ruined is not going to aid your cause take a photo a couple of weeks after all the seeding and repair works I saw taking place at the weekend I would think it will be well on the way to repair. Anyone in urgent need of a picnic can use the rye common instead of the park. I live 200m from Colyton road this is very much my back yard. I didn’t go and I fear I’m past the age group it’s aimed at. It’s been well organised each year and it seems the organisers are trying hard to please residents, who I don’t argue are inconvenienced for 3 days out of 365. I was disappointed they got refused another weekend that I understand would be aimed more at families and fogeys - much more my demographic.

Anyone living in the area who likes curry needs to try a delivery from two sisters in Nunhead - it’s leagues above most. Constantly searching for similar quality Chinese delivery if anyone has any suggestions

I know the owner’s a tw@t but I like a ‘spoons’ they’re great value and give people a place to go who don’t want to spend a load of money; it’s a good offering and a loss to Forest Hill. Spoons like Greggs have become British fixtures for good reason. A friend is opening a business nearby according to him it’s staying as a pub run by another chain/real estate investment company Greene King/Fullers etc

Hi? Another very confident recommendation for Kyjah / Relax Gardens. We had a an extension the garden was destroyed. Kyjah levelled the garden, painted supported fences, layed turf and put in borders. Very considerate, cleaned up after working, ensured mess while working kept to a minimum. Very keen to ensure I was happy with everything. Reasonable price too! I am now planning to do the front garden and will definitely be talking to Kyjah again

Hi Folks It is with great sadness that I have to announce the closure of Canavan's peckham pool club. With no help from the government and after having talks with the landladies they are refusing to reduce the rent until the virus is dealt with. I can not afford to pay three months rent in advance in this situation. After pay my rent evry quarter on time for the past ten years this is a very hard pil to swallow but such is life. for the my staffs jobs and the future of the club I have loved I had to ask. As you know we are a night time club and only get busy after 10.00pm there is no way I can survive. I want to thank everyone who made Canavan's the world famous venue it became. From the famous to the yet to be famous who put on some fantastic events and members, guests and visitors, Thank you all. to all my staff who stud by me when times got rough, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We also had these guys round last night Homestall road - aggressive when my girlfriend changed her mind about spending ?20 on some scissors and upset her. Unfortunately I lost my temper with them too after that ... not happy when I wasn?t scared about them being ex prisoners or the mention of leaving the scissors in my neck :D Twats who take advantage of people?s good nature; I assumed they were trying to monetise shop lifted stuff but from this thread seems like it is much more organised. He didn?t want to come get his scissors so we got them for free in the end !! I?m going to report to police as much awareness as possible - Hopefully the cops will harass them a bit if they see them.
