Personally I wouldn't bother with the seat - both of mine started scooting at 18months with the usual handle! Mini micros are the best I reckon! Cathy

Hello all, Does anyone know the best way to find last minute ad hoc childcare? Are there any local cr?ches that can take under 5s for a couple of hours? I am lucky enough to have had family around to take my two kids at short notice but they are currently on hols and I am a bit stuck for a few hours tomorrow morning and hoping someone can shed some light and point me in the right direction! I'm not sure if there is anywhere where you can pay an hourly rate and drop kids off? Please let me know if you know of anything, or perhaps anyone who could help! Many thanks in advance Cathy

When is this actually open? I've never seen it open once! Can anyone advise?

The dentist advised us when my son was 3 to aim to have him off it by 4 in order to limit damage. I found that telling him what the dentist said and being brutally honest with him helped so he was aware that it was damaging his teeth. We weren't too pushy and just gently reminded him to take his thumb out and do something else with his hands when he wanted to suck his thumb (he kneaded his fingers together!) . Amazingly he stopped just before his 4th bday on his own and with no nasty tasting aids! Most kids will stop when they go to school but it's good to wean them off it before then if you can Good luck!

I would recommend looking at the villa school and nursery... although they only take them from two if you want your child to attend later on you should put their name down when baby is born as the waiting list is about 2yrs. Crazy I know but I'm so grateful someone advised me to put my son on the list so early as it's such a lovely place!
