  1. Thanks for that Simon, did not want to be seen on train with Sun. Actually a good and interesting article (and of some length for The Sun, I thought!) Monica-did you see the bags in the picture?! Oh dear, can hear the creak of the floodgates opening on my newspaper snobbery.
  2. Drat missed it. Not that I would have been able to recognise anyone...!
  3. Good work all! Wondered if we had an aim as a forum to be in the South London Press on a weekly basis? Liking it if we do as could only be an improvement to the paper. What could get in next week? Ideas on the back of the postcards please.;)
  4. And I know someone in Hull with a 3 wheeler pram... Whoops jumping on bandwagons again. Must do some work.
  5. There's actually a 'Pool room' in 'The Wishing Well' on the crossroads of Bellenden/Choumert. Nice pub, not gastro like and fairly local-ish still but a mixed crowd. Hsve played pool there(I am shocking) a couple of times when my drunkedness seems to give me newfound confidence on the table but reality always kicks in when I am beaten...
  6. Well, I have to say I went up LL this afternoon and the first place I went to had sold out of South London Press already, and it normally lurks around for the rest of the week so that can only be down the the local demand for the paper following your blog, DM and the forum. Would hate to be accused of 'jumping on the bandwagon' for anything but well done! We will soon be posting about you on the 'Seen anyone famous in ED?' thread!
  7. Hmmm, have to add Louisa, that when I said 'will never use CSM', meant really that never would need to as have aforementioned 'Friends of Fabric' 5 mins away, rather than give the impression I will stop using a shop I have never used. Also should admit at this point that I don't really have enough clothes that are dry clean only to warrant more than a few visits a year to a DC. Primark fabrics seem just fine in the washing machine.
  8. Wow, that is a truly awful story. I had my wedding dress cleaned by 'friends of Fabric' on Bellenden Rd. Forgot about it for a while I admit but the guy in there is so super friendly that it did not cost me anymore and he still remembered me when I came in. Can't remember how much it cost, but remember thinking it was cheap. I went in there the other day to pick up a dress and he told me he had dry cleaned 3 times to get the red wine stain out-at no extra cost. Will def never use CSM.
  9. That lady has been a common visitor around ED recently. I know at least 3 people who have had her knocking saying she lived on their road, and is locked out, and we have also had a leaflet from the police warning us of her. Not sure if she is simply pulling a scam or not well, as a friend said she seemed a bit of sorry figure.
  10. Just behind Goose Green near St John's and St Clements. Hope it was a weird one off. Have to say we have recently had building work done so the house could of looked like it was unhabited/in middle of building work, as run out of money before could do anything to the front. On a motorbike is strange though, if I was paranoid, I would believe a hitman of some kind was after me...!
  11. Have been meaning to post this up all week to see if anything similar has happened around here to anyone else. I was up early (around 6.45am) on Monday morning thanks to mimi mumra, and as usual went downstairs to catch Balamory. Whilst I was fiddling with the remote control and my daughter was sitting on the sofa I became aware of someone standing in my front garden/yard, no more than a foot away from me. As I turned around in my bay window I saw a person standing on my window sill looking into the house, with a motorbike helmet on. Pretty scary I can tell you, but I think they were equally scared by my morning hair and bed attire as they fell off the window sill, and jumped over the wall where their friend was waiting on a motorbike. They jumped on the back and went. Only caught half the reg so called the police but obviously not much they could do. A neighbour who was up at the same time saw the bike, and thought it looked like 2 teenagers or girls. Probably doing a recky to see if they could break in, but weird nonetheless at this time of day and thought I would see if it had happened to anyone else.
  12. Also, has anyone else ever done the Tim Tam/Chocolate finger using it like a straw experience?
  13. Depends on the beverage accompanying the biscuit. Tea - Rich Tea Cheap coffee - Ginger nut Decent coffee - Anything with chocolate on but dark chocolate covered biscuits are better Hot chocolate - Shortbread Mr Mumra often berates me for being OCD with my biscuit choice, but when you have only 15 mins for a break I think it is totally valid to be specific on what is the best accompaniment!
  14. I know! Mini mumra was gutted at the weekend when ommitted slide was observed. Cries of 'my slide gone' could be heard all the way to Nunhead.
  15. This is such a good idea for a thread BB! Only the other day I was thinking if I could merge the best bits from Radio 2, 4 and Xfm it would be a winner. Do listen to BBC6 but not useful to like a digital radio station when in the car. Agree that Tonks is rubbish and seems to be the only DJ on Xfm at the mo :(
  16. Yes, have to say despite the rain it was sunny in that tent! Well done Mark. Hope we didn't deafen y'all with our cake market cries.
  17. No, sorry no can do tonight. Maybe meet a few of the infamous posters on Sunday.
  18. Put me down for some flapjacks and an early afternoon slot on the stall.
  19. Am really sorry guys but not able to make tonight, as have been working late, but count me in for next time.
  20. Not that useful to you Nutty now, but have to say that the NCT teacher that is based in East Dulwich is fab, very open minded and explores all options. She also really fostered us as a 'group' and without making us, engineered meeting opportunities afterwards. 2 years on and we still meet up - the boys as well!
  21. Am going to try my best to get there with Mr Mumra, mini Mumra and both mumra-in-laws. Having said that have realised that this may take up all available tent space, so probably just swing by.
  22. Have to tell you all that Peckham Pulse pool has reopened! At the moment the water and the changing rooms are very clean. Went there yesterday for 'Jelliebabies' session with the little one in the hydrotherapy pool. It was great, and very reasonable, and little mumra especially loved the bubbles! Also, have heard Crystal palace is closing for refit.
  23. Oh no, I might not tell Mr M this as it could take up hours of his time. Please don't call yourself a saddo Mr Mockney - we actually went to the maps exhibition at the BM on Valentine's day, how sad/un rock and roll is that? On the up side I am going to see Guitar club at the 12 bar tonight, so feel like I can honestly say I have my sad side and my rock and roll side.
  24. Sh**t, meant Partridges, genuine typing error not cuss. Should try to only do one thing at a time.
  25. Would welcome it if there was a variety of prices and types of clothing, a friend and I went into ED in search of a raincoat for her 2 year old and could not find one under ?25, so we traipsed into Peckham and purchased one for ?5 from woolworths. However, if you want a nice dress for an occasion then Pratridges et al are the ones. Soup dragon have a range of products and prices and do better for it I think.
