Hi Louisse, I also live in Sydenham and have a miniature Scnauser who is 6. He is pretty easy going and only really gets grumpy with young puppies. We usually walk in the recreation ground off Newlands Park or Mayow Park. If you'd like them to meet up and see how they get on, perhaps on Sunday? Let me know,

I am in Sydenham and used the local forum to investigate the history of the house I bought there. I was then contacted from California by the great-grand-daughter of the man who built the house in the 1880s and she has since been to visit and brought photos from those days. That's quite a reach - you clearly never know who's watching the forums!

There's a great family run independent garden centre called Alexander Nurseries in Sydenham. Great plants and you can have a coffee too! Close to Penge East station

Shopping local vs supermarkets and their local stores

To be honest 95% of my shopping comes from the supermarket but is delivered to the door. I leave for work at 6.30am and get back around 7pm. I don't know how else I could do enough household shopping for two people and a dog other than on-line every 10-14 days. The time it would take to go to individual stores and pick up everything throughout the week would be just impossible for me -

Having one as we speak (although in Sydenham not ED) Thye great thing is that the workers are contained downstairs and so not too much disruption in the rest of the house, The results we have seen from the company we are using are pretty impressive.
