  1. They said an electric cut out had set alight.
  2. No idea. They just said it would be noisy. Feel free to ask them & see if they give you the same explanation? It seems a bit weird to me.

  4. The food in Toasted, especially tasty lamb & then salted chocolate tart. Beer from BossMan. Sausage rolls from The ED Deli. Helpful advice & unusual gifts in The Cheese Block. Anything DIY you need from the ED home ware store (opposite the bishop) Babur Indian delivery Great/friendly bike servicing on Northcross Road market Aneto's coffee & service
  5. I live on Crawthew. I can see that the road closures are an inconvenience. I think a prosecution would be an over reaction. Although not directly related, but for balance, the builders leant me a ladder & helped me get back into my house recently after I locked myself out.
  6. Thank you. He was quite scary.
  7. Ah. I couldn't see the end result from my place. Glad they picked him up.
  8. Does anyone know what went on with the guy shouting & banging on the street? Looked like police attended, but can still hear banging?
  9. I'm glad he was ok & thanks for posting as a warning. Typical of the police to say there was no crime, so they don't have to record it as unresolved. But if the guys attempted to punch him resulting in him running away/avoiding the punch, that is technically an assault. They only have to take an action which causes fear of violence. The police should record it as a crime.
  10. I had my card cloned last wk: someone bought pay as you go O2 phone credit up North at ?10 a time.(not so bad). Lloyds & Natwest have since stopped my transactions querying 'fraudulent pattern' .....erm, buying Christmas presents. John lewis said banks do it so much at Christmas they have a whole team just dealing with repeating the transactions once cards are 'released' by the banks again. Never come across it before this year though.

Yes probably could have (advised I could) but was just mostly glad it was all over. Didn't really want to get entangled with the police again. Not so trusting now!
  12. If anyone saw the accident & police didn't take your details it would probably be really helpful to call the local police & provide your account in writing(including whether there were sirens or lights). I was hit by the police on ED Grove, luckily no one hurt but my car written off. 4 mnths later they tried to prosecute me for careless driving! (i had been stationary). Luckily as the officer's 'different accounts' in court were obvious, the case was dropped. In my experience the police drive far too fast in London.
