  2. Walking from Peckham Rye up Barry Road from the Clockhouse Friday evening I witnessed a marked police car hammer it up Barry Road with no lights or siren. One rule for one...
  3. I'm sorry to hear this and its no consolation after the event however keyless entry vehicles are being stolen at an alarming rate by gangs using cheap relay systema to fool your car into thinking they have the key fob. Best way to protect yourself is to use an old fashioned crook lock popular in the 80's & 90's. I also hear that leaving your keys in the microwave blocks these devises from working although I've not tried it myself.
  4. My 3 yrs son and I like spotting planes with the Flightradar app in the back garden. (Mainly for his benefit than mine) Heathrow bound aircraft over ED have been noticeably thin on the ground over the past couple of weeks. If they're approaching from the east they seem to be heading to the airfield closer to the river than our neighbourhood.
  5. With this festival on in Peckham Rye, if you're planning to go away, leave now and don't come back until the last possible moment on Monday. It will be chaos.
  6. I have no issue is people having some well earned fun but cant help worrying the surrounding roads will be gridlocked. From the event website. "Peckham Rye and Nunhead Stations are CLOSED on 28 May, please take this into consideration when travelling to the festival....There is no parking permitted within the festival site. We take no responsibility for your vehicle on the surrounding roads"
  7. I'm a daily cyclist from ED to the City. The Overtaking, pulling in and braking described by Robert is a particular annoyance and almost daily occurrence especially on Crystal Palace Road.
  8. Suzanne, sorry I mean Jess, thanks for the information!

It would be nice for the Dulwich Hill Councillors to make themselves available via the forum and follow the example set by James Barber. This is the "East Dulwich" forum after all.
  10. Like it or loath it, its a major national event and 24 news channels have space to fill. If its royal free repeats you're after, try Dave!
  11. Would this be a good time to recommend cycling?!
  12. List it as a free item in classified section of the EDF?
  13. Absolutely no problems with BT infinity on Barry Road. Crossed Fingers its run seamlessly since installed over 2 yrs ago.
  14. Correct. No MOT invalidates the insurance.
  15. Broadband can be a huge lottery. For us on Barry Road Virgin Media were a nightmare. 2 years ago we switched to BT infinity and it just works. Never had any complaints. In comparison it offers 100% piece of mind

Really? I've not heard that anywhere. Given the heavy promotion of Freeview with its HD capabilities and people being encouraged to change their hardware I can't believe this would be allowed to happen.
  17. When's the World Cup coming to Dubai?
  18. We lost pressure on Barry Road last night but still had some water. This morning, back to normal thankfully.
  19. Would this be a good time to recommend cycling?!
  20. How would a specific dog be recognised from CCTV?
  21. I was in Yeovil two weeks ago and noticed daffodils on a traffic island in full bloom!
  22. I once succumbed to a Chugger when they knocked on my door at 8pm on a Friday evening. I was already on my second glass of wine and my guard was down!
