There should be no reason to panic buy pasta. This is down to just a fusilli people!

Controlled Parking Zone - West Peckham
Tractorlad replied to trinidad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I cycle along Kelly Av, Commercial Way and Chandler Way daily and the recent CPZ there has made a huge positive difference. At the time I must admit I voted against controlled parking in SE22 but now I'm not so sure. It's a shame the council ask ?125 a year since there is a slight whiff of ulterior motive. If it were free for those who can demonstrate they are residents then bring it on! -
Virgin Media are crooks. Avoid. They over promise and under deliver in SE22

It was the worst place I've ever stayed in without contest. Possibly an appropriate punishment. -
Massive fan of 6 Music. If I'm ever caught voluntarily listening to Radio 2, then its time start looking for some institutional care!

Car stolen from Upland Road New Years day

I'm glad there was a happy ending. To be honest, I don't see the point in keyless entry. I've disabled mine since it seems to bring more trouble than its worth. -
Two Suspicious Men Knocking at my Door
Tractorlad replied to Tractorlad's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I opened the door so they knew someone was in and they were rumbled. I live on a busy road and it was the middle of the day. I escorted them out of my garden. -

No, i haven't reported it. I'm not sure who to and quite frankly I doubt the authorities would be interested Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Have you reported it? -
Two Suspicious Men Knocking at my Door

Maybe I?m just paranoid but I just had two gents knocking at my door looking for someone that doesn?t live here. I have the interaction on camera and reviewing the footage my suspicions seem to be confirmed. Two IC3 males late 20s in smart tracksuits (if such a thing exists) with matching black baseball caps. One knocked at my door whilst the other steps back casually holding his phone to his ear and studies the alarm half way up the side of my house. The other then tries the front door handle and spots my camera so steps back and adjusts his cap. They obviously don?t expect an answer so are surprised when I open the door. One mutters something about Donna being in, there is no Donna. I then challenge them on trying the door handle. They tell me they thought it was a a flat! What difference that makes I have no idea. Anyhow it?s a semi, one knocker, one door bell. No way would you think it a flat. I stepped into the garden and purposefully watched them leave. I?m worried what might have happened had I not been a home. Maybe overly suspicious on my part but my wife saw the video on her phone from work and commented the same without me prompting. Please be vigilant.

Barry Road closure and buses
Tractorlad replied to TheArtfulDogger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
intexasatthe moment Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Anyone know whether a vehicle can turn right at > bottom of Barry Road ,heading towards Honor Oak ? Even when the road is open, due to the design of the junction, turning right at bottom on Barry Road is problematic. Traveling to Honor Oak I prefer Dunstans Road where the junction is controlled by lights. -
Bumblee bee trapped between two sliding door panes

How old is your TV? Its likely that it already has Freeview installed. If so, disconnect Tivo from the back of the TV and connect your set to the aerial socket to try before you make a decision. You might need to re-scan for channels if you've never used the built-in tuner before. Tivo however will have a recording facility. To continue that capability you can buy a freeview set-top box with built-in hard-drive. Standard definition units start from about ?50, with HD ?150/200 and up. As mentioned earlier, the main terrestrial channels have streaming "catch-up" services. If your TV is "smart" it will have those included. If not, the more modern set-top boxes will have this feature although if you don't need recording, a cheap blu-ray or digital media player like a Amazon fire stick or Roku would be sufficient and cheaper. The latter of course relies on broadband. If you're thinking of discontinuing Tivo, Virgin will bundle the price of cable broadband with the TV making broadband on its own more expensive than a no frills DSL service. You might therefore want to look for a deal from Plusnet or Talktalk as a replacement broadband provider. The main thing though is that other than the broadband (and the TV license), after the initial outlay your TV viewing will be completely free and without subscription.

Looking for recommendations on phone and broadband providers
Tractorlad replied to Rosetta's topic in The Lounge
No recommendation other than avoid Virgin Media in SE22 at all costs. Extremely unreliable, expensive and provide nothing even close to the advertised speeds. -
Did anyone just hear a gunshot ring out?
Tractorlad replied to rimi_monster's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Yep I heard it too on Barry Road. -
My only experience is Virgin. I would recommend avoiding them at all costs

Has anyone received their garden/brown bin sticker?
Tractorlad replied to Mrs C's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
After reading the Southwark website on this issue I'm a bit confused. ?25 to continue garden waste collection until March? That will be the existing brown bins? Food waste will be a new bin? Is that correct? -

It occurred to me last night that these elections are a week on Thursday and perhaps I should do a bit of research into the candidates and their policies. Could i find at least a list of candidates? Could I heck! Someone help please.

Hi James. My diesel car was registered in July 2013 but sadly falls into the charging. I'm not sure where the 2012 information came from?
