  1. Some replies... Yes! The Regency, off Horseferry Road, is exactly the type of establishment I mean. A classic British cafe that offers fresh, chip-shop chips. It's exactly one hour's walk from where I live, enough time to build up a hunger. I would, as some have suggested, do my own home-chip-frying, but sometimes you just want someone to do it for you, while you have a good sit down and check the weather on your phone. I have also, as suggested, dashed back from the chippy and hastily prepared the egg and b. at home. Can certainly do the trick, but you still have to do the washing up. My favourite chippy, FWIW, is the Herne Hill Fish Bar - http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/52/1588610/restaurant/Dulwich/Herne-Hill-Fish-Bar-London
  2. Hi all, Yes, the chippy-with-seating is often the last refuge for the chip-lover searching for a breakfast. I have tried the Sea Cow and agree the chips are not up to scratch - very disappointing for an otherwise fine establishment. I have not tried the one on Northcross Rd and will try it out. The problem I find though is that while chippy chips are often good, the kitchen does not offer egg and bacon to accompany them. I'd be interested in hearing of any cafe in London that offers this simple delight! Pat
  3. Until it closed, the Blue Brick Cafe in East Dulwich offered the most wonderful home-cooked chips to accompany a spot of the old egg & b. But now, sadly, it has gone. I have searched far and wide - at enormous physical expense - for a cafe that offers non-frozen, hand-cut chips in the area but have sadly drawn a blank. Does anyone know of anywhere that offers this simple delight? (Will travel) Pat
