Hi, I wondered if anyone knew of, or was interested in a free running club which isn't the parkrun. I am looking for people to run with during the evenings around Peckham Rye. I'm a fairly newish runner so only manage 30-40mins and I'd rather do something informal than pay to join a running club. If anyone knows of anything already, or would be interested in running let me know. Thanks, Laura

Absolutely I don't see why not if we can get this off the ground, I just wanted to gauge age ranges and interest. @Ladysaw - thank you, will PM you.

Hi everyone, Since the decision was made a while back that a dating section on the forum wasn't going to happen, I wanted to gauge interest on the idea of setting up some local dating events in Dulwich/Peckham area for people in their late 20s - 40 (just a ball park age range, comments to this welcome). One idea would be to take over an area in a local pub and let the singles join and mingle, hey you could even bring a non-single wingman it's that relaxed. These type of events are held in the west end and its all very easy going and the bar gets more foot traffic, and people get to meet when they might not otherwise. This is just an idea, and would love to hear from those who think it is something that could fly, or if you have any other ideas to consider. Also if you are someone who has experience in arranging events, or if you think this is something you'd like to help with to try and get it off the ground feel free to PM me as I'd love to meet to chat about it's feasibility. Thoughts welcome.

Thoughts on buying in the Dog Kennel Hill estate...
LauraLou replied to tigerlily's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I used to live in DKH, as a tenant in a privately owned flat with the landlady. She was stuck with the flat and was unable to sell due to nightmare noisy and slightly unhinged (can't think of a better way to put it) council tenants, and as the council have a duty of care for their tenants it's a losing battle. She was also told by a few estate agents that as so many flats are still council owned to see your investment reap the rewards you would need to be there over 20+ years until the whole estate was regenerated and became privately owned. Overall i did feel safe in the estate, most people just going about their daily business, but it was noisy with kids in the evenings/ summer playing footie in the car park, there were some unsavoury characters dealing at night very obviously from certain flats, the noise between flats - up/down and either side is really loud, and like many have mentioned the service charges are ridiculous if you own the flat. I left and bought a flat, all be it one where the council is a freeholder and I can honestly say I will never ever buy a flat again where Southwark is the freeholder. I am in the midst of footing a large bill for unnecessary major works, which i'm told even by the contractors themselves won't be done to a good job, yet i'm paying for it all with no choice! This is a frequent occurrence and every year my service charge exceeds the estimate in its hundreds. Southwark are an absolute nightmare to deal with, its always a battle and you invariably lose. If I were buying again I would steer well clear of council owned properties...just my two cents. -
Travelling with meds to be kept at fridge temperature

Hi, I used a little lunch box like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Spotty-Red-Insulated-Lunch-Bag/dp/B001FDC8VA/ref=sr_1_45?ie=UTF8&qid=1405009004&sr=8-45&keywords=cool+bag Stuffed with ice packs, it seemed to work and the humira pens fitted in and kept cool. Then once on board the flight attendants can normally put them in a fridge. Laura -
Thanks both, all sorted now. I'm amazed at how much better the printing process in the library is now since I last went, very easy.

Hello, Does anyone know what I need to do to use the printers in Dulwich library? I vaguely remember having to show some ID and utility bill once upon a time to get a library card. I no longer live at the same address so would need to re-register. Thanks

Hello, Just wanted to point out that there were two strange men knocking on doors and ringing bells today, when I opened my door to them they seemed quite shocked and started asking for random people, none of who live here or nearby as far as I know. They were wearing hi-vis vests, no logos or identification badges, and then when they left (no apology), they walked off down underhill road not trying any other doors I noticed! Having been burgled last year I just wanted to point it out so people are vigilant. This is Underhill, over the brow of the hill past the mini roundabout. Thanks

Has anyone used the FH fusion, i've been thinking of joining as it has a pool.

Thanks reeko. He followed me a few times as I tried to cross the road away from him, before he ran up behind me to try and snatch my bag. Luckily I was able to run off in time and get away.

Just a warning for people to be extra vigilant, I was followed by a white male along belvoir road at midnight tonight. I only got away by making a run for it. He had a dark blue coat, with hood and little hair. Reported to 101

Hi James, sorry to hear that I hope that you are ok. Can I ask where you are, are you also on/ near Underhill?

The police also recommended this site to me: http://www.immobilise.com/

They broke the bottom flats window, came through their flat and up the internal stairs to my flat and another. So an internal door, mine also has four locks on yet they smashed it off the hinges and split it with a crowbar. one of my neighbours was in as they were trying to break in so he called the police who arrived just in time before they could make off with anything of mine.
