  1. Another recommendation for Daniel Tweedie, he is excellent. http://www.danieltweedie.com/
  2. Lorraine Liyanage & Alexandra Kremakova (teachers from the SE22 Piano School) will be performing in a harpsichord recital today at The Asylum in Peckham at 5.15pm. Entry is free for children when accompanied by adults. Tickets are available online until midday or can be bought on the door. https://billetto.co.uk/en/events/harpsichord-the-asylum
  3. I think you got lucky with that appointment. My partner called this morning and got an appointment for the 23rd of March.
  4. Belle - my daughter was 7 and an absolute beginner so do get in touch.
  5. We used Cycle Confident for free lessons and they are excellent. They also run daily classes through the school holidays - also free of charge at various parks in the area.
  6. Try Lorenzo Ali - lots of great recommendations on this forum http://www.lorenzophotography.co.uk/category/london-portrait-photographer/
  7. Sheena Dempsey runs some great illustration classes locally. I'm not sure when the next one is but they are aimed at older children. http://www.sheenadempsey.com/courses/
  8. Two recommendations - both excellent! Christine http://eastdulwichyogahealth.com/styled-7/index.html Amy from The Dulwich Touch http://thedulwichtouch.co.uk
  9. A third vote for Dog Kennel Hill Adventure Playground. It's a fantastic resource for local children and also appeals to teens, providing various classes like pottery, music making/editing plus table tennis, computer use - all for free. They are fundraising for a new building. See more information here: http://www.dkhap.org.uk/assets/dkhap.pdf
  10. Sounds brilliant. Will be there around 6
  11. Sounds great. See you there on Tuesday!
  12. Here's some information about the level of scholarships awarded for music entrance to private schools in South London (article was written a couple of years ago so amounts may vary). Click on the school links to check out other scholarships (maths, sports, art, financial assistance, bursaries etc) http://www.se22piano.co.uk/music-scholarship-assessments-for-private-schools-in-london/
  13. The Peckham arches after-school workshops mentioned above are with Loraine Rutt: [email protected]
  14. My partner took Southwark Council to court over the shoddy state of major works - some of the same things as listed above, sash windows painted shut etc. It's worth pursuing them over the ridiculous bills that they send leaseholders every 3 or 4 years!
  15. My daughter's speech was delayed and it was due to hearing problems. She had grommets fitted at nearly age 3 and went from not saying much to talking in full sentences within minutes of coming round from the operation.
  16. Verona Hall is brilliant and based locally http://www.veronahall.co.uk/
  17. Nimble Arts accepts Childcare Vouchers. Booking is now open for their Summer classes. http://nimblearts.co.uk/?p=1067
  18. I highly recommend the Nimble Arts holiday clubs. Each day is carefully planned with a different theme so the kids make some really fantastic projects covering arts, dance, music-making, movie-making. theatre and more. The safety aspect is absolutely fine. There is a member of staff on the door to sign every child in and out and the session takes place in the Heber school hall so all the children are in one area. There is a high staff to child ratio. I am sure your children will love it!
  19. Another recommendation for Gary - he did some tiling and replacement of a floor that had been damaged through water leaking. Very easy to communicate with, efficient and completed the job on time.
  20. The Horniman Museum also do really excellent Late Night events for over 18s. There was an interesting taxidermy event and demonstration last year!
  21. The Mulberry Centre in Myatt's field could be ideal: http://www.myattsfieldspark.info/the-mulberry-centre--one-oclock-club.html
  22. Nimble Arts do half days at Heber School: http://www.nimblearts.co.uk
  23. Eons Dance run lots of classes locally. We do the Friday afternoon classes at East Dulwich Leisure Centre with Miss Ari. My daughter absolutely loves going - I wish we'd started sooner! Http://www.eosdance.co.uk
  24. My daughter has been going for nearly a year and it's the highlight of her week - the classes are really well run.
  25. Jollymummy, I have some toys and shoes. Are you able to collect?
