  1. The SE22 Piano School opens on Monday 6th September after the Summer break. We have a few vacancies for new students to start piano, theory and guitar lessons. We also offer Music Aptitude Test training for entry to local schools such as Kingsdale, Habs, Prendergast and the Norwood School. Vacancies can be viewed online. We accept students from the age of 4 and adult students too. http://www.se22piano.co.uk
  2. My daughter (Y8, just turned 13) cycles from top end of Lordship to Harris Girls (under 10 mins) and occasionally meets friends after school for a little bit before coming home. Always arranges that in advance and is in touch by phone. This weekend she is doing her first evening excursion trick or treating with a friend, she'll take the bus and then get dropped off by their parents on the way back. I generally feel safer with her on the bike than on the bus on her own. I do find that with the disrupted start to Year 7 during lockdown that the friendship groups don't seem that close-knit and they aren't meeting up as much as I used to with my friends at that age. There is a LOT of WhatsApp chat though!

  5. It's not that local but a short ride away, I used Strype Street Cycle in Spitalfields and really happy with the bike fit. Was getting lots of neck pain and also knee ache. All sorted now!

  14. The East Dulwich Business Club is a co-working space on Wednesdays hosted by Suzanne James at 57 Northcross Road: https://www.facebook.com/fiftysevenSJ/
  15. Children aged 10 and under travel free on Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail and most National Rail services as long as you have an age 5-10 Oyster photo card that you apply for online. If you do not get the card, then they get free travel on tube, bus and trams but not on the trains. Age 11+ will require a separate Oyster card and it's free on bus/tram and a discounted child rate on tube/train. Without that card, I'm not sure what rate you pay. The cards arrive quite quickly but you'll need a photo of the children in electronic format and their passport number (I think, it's been a while since I applied for one).
  16. Lorenzo Ali comes highly recommended on this forum and has a studio in Dulwich https://www.lorenzophotography.co.uk/
  17. I'll see if I can get some more information about the waiver when I next go there. Waiver aside, it's a very safe activity from what I have observed (my daughter's had lots of lessons at different rigs in London) and a lot of fun for kids and parents.
  18. We've done lots of classes now and it all looks very safe - yet to witness any accidents as everyone wears a harness and is clipped into safety lines at all times. There are three instructors per person. The only safety concern might be that a child forgets to clip themselves in while climbing the ladder and could potentially fall but a parent can stand at the bottom and supervise.
  19. There are a couple of All Inclusive options in Marrakech with water parks - not too sure about evening entertainment. British Airways always feature Club Kenzi which gets good reviews - I've yet to try it though but Marrakech is a great place to explore. I went there in the Feb half-term and did lots of solo travel around town whilst my daughter was in the kids club.
