  1. Hi, would anyone with children currently or previously at Rose House in forest Hill - the pre-school or the primary school - be willing to share their experiences? We're thinking of sending or son who is currently two to the primary school but in order to get a place we need to start him at the pre-school this September. It's quite a long journey for us, and also a lot of money, so I'd be very grateful for any thoughts. Thank you! Helena
  2. Hi, Would anyone be interested in setting up a regular play group for a small group of toddlers? This is what I have in mind: I like to do lots of activities with my son (who will be two in September), but I'm anticipating that it will get harder to keep him occupied when our new baby arrives. But organising activities for three / four kids isn't so much harder than organising something for one, so I'm wondering if anyone would like to team up, and create a small toddler group that meets perhaps twice a week, with some kind of planned activity - crafts, cooking, that kind of thing - maybe even themed over a number of meet-ups, alternating at different people's homes. And maybe including lunch / tea for the toddlers. If anyone's interested, please PM me and we could perhaps all meet to discuss how it might work. Our flat is small, so I'm thinking maybe just three kids (with parent plus baby) but if lots of people are interested we could organise it a bit differently. Helena
  3. Hi, would anyone with a child at Blossoms or Dulwich montessori be willing to share their thoughts / experience? If anyone has a moment to chat on the phone that would be even better! Thanks, Helena
  4. Hi, I'd really love some advice from parents with experience settling a toddler into nursery when expecting a new baby. We'd like our son to start pre-school not long after he turns two. Our second baby is due two months later. He's never been in childcare before and is quite shy. But we're hoping pre-school will help keep him happily occupied and give him space away from the baby, as well as making my life a bit easier. Any thoughts? Is it too ambitious to expect him to adjust to two big new things in the course of two months? Might it be better to start pre-school a few months after the new baby arrives? Does anyone have experience that would help us think about this? I really don't know what is best for him! Thanks in advance, Helena
  5. Hi, I'm due mid-November, when our son will be 26 months. I'd love to meet up - sounds like lots of people have similar age gaps. Helena
  6. Hi, I just discovered the Autumn babies club a year or so too late (my son was born Sept last year), but I'm wondering if you still meet up or if there are any other Autumn baby parents who would like to. I'm still looking after our son full-time but finding that most of the people I know with similar-aged babies have gone back to work now. It would be lovely to meet some new people. All the best, Helena
