  1. It?s hardly an exaggeration. Anyway, at least the car park is going to be used for something, judging by the recent planning application. Louisa.
  2. It?s a shocking mess. A site of significant cultural and historical importance to Dulwich, left to rot. No one seems to be doing anything about it either. Too many stakeholders involved, so limbo seems to be the default position. Even those of us who would like the venue to reopen, are realistic about the unlikely success of another pub in this location. Ultimately, it?s gone on too long and I?m sure many would be happy to just see the site put back to good use again. Regardless. Louisa.
  3. I?m sure I?m not alone when it comes to being frustrated at the long queues at this branch. However, considering that a disproportionate number of in-branch customers are now probably over the age of 65, I do hope someone will be on hand to help with the technology upgrades. I certainly would struggle with some aspects of this type of do it yourself system. Also, to reiterate my previous post. Will the cash machines remain in operation throughout the refit? Many pensioners were recently forced to have state pension payments paid directly into bank accounts by DWP, rather than P.O. accounts. For some, this means that using cash machines are restricted for certain accounts to the banks own cash machines. Louisa.
  4. Will the cash machines been out of service during this period too? I have a specific account I can only use via Barclays own cash machines. Louisa.
  5. A trip to Kings yesterday via what I assumed would be a easy stop off at Lidl Peckham, resulted in over 1 hour and 30 minutes in delays. Best thing you can do if coming from Camberwell is to go back up Denmark Hill past the Fox on the Hill and then a left down towards the village. I feel sorry for people who live on the likes of Highshore RD who have no choice but to join the chaos to get out. Louisa.
  6. Homophobic OP? What nonsense. Someone was verbally abused and the rightfully angry partner of the victim, is offering a description on here to try and warn others about this thuggish behaviour. Isn?t it odd, that in 2018 people have to immediately take offence at anything. Even something as serious as this. Even though the real victims here are the OP?s partner and friend, some PC fanatics have to look for a reason to take offence at the choice of language, from a obviously upset person, and jump the conclusion of homophobia. It?s just ridiculous beyond words. Louisa.
  7. Why would outside visitors want to come to ED? Transport isn?t great, and it?s too out of the way. People who want a go to destination experience go to Brixton, Clapham, even Peckham. Way better connected. You also need to look at the demographic. The area had a resident population before the foodies arrived. Not everyone wants restaurants on the high street. A huge chunk of local residents want something useable. Yet another restaurant is not healthy. Louisa.
  8. In your experience dulwichrat, what sort of bait would tempt you to stick your head in one of those contraptions? I?m assuming the rats of Dulwich are quite picky. Louisa.
  9. Thanks for everything James. It?s not often someone in politics goes above and beyond for the community they serve. You did both. You?ll be sorely missed. Good luck to the incumbents, the high water mark you need to match has been set. Louisa.
  10. From the British Home Stores days, I seem to recall this building is unable to accommodate additional sales floor space above, because that would remove stock room space. Unless they plan on going higher with the building? Louisa.
  11. The first letter is M, wonderwoman. Louisa.
  12. Yes Sue it is. And I know people have suggested previously that some of the helpers may have certain health related issues, but there is no excuse for rummaging through a donated bag of goods in front of customers and the person kind enough to donate them, and suggesting said donated items are not wanted or they have too much already. It?s iust plain rude. If someone is kind enough to donate, these people should at least show some gratitude. The lovely people at St Christopher?s are always pleased with any donation, and always so thankful. Louisa.
  13. The floor space isn?t huge inside, but some of the egos that help out are. One particular member of staff is incredibly rude and doesn?t even try to hide it. Louisa.
  14. It must be that time of the year. A nosey pussy was trying to get into my house last week. I was only putting the bins back, and it was going hell for leather at my front door after I came back in. Lots of late night meowing followed too. Louisa.
  15. The turds don?t always give it away. I once found what I was expecting to be cat muck in the garden, and after further investigation Mr Louisa discovered a badger late one evening. Must be rare in London, never seen one myself before or since. The poo doesn?t always drop the guise of the perpetrator though. Louisa.

Would certainly ease the congestion on residential streets. Ship the commuters off to ED or FH for Overground. Louisa.
  17. I have a lot of time of most of our local charity shops, but one in particular, is extremely rude and not very charitable at all. Hopefully the new one will be nice like most of the others. Louisa.
  18. And even if everyone voted, we would still have the same head of state. The oxymoron of our so called ?democracy?. Louisa.
  19. I?ve been to vote. Not one of the parties stood out. Louisa.
  20. Looks like a mouse to me. Unless it?s a juvenile rat. Louisa.

They?re singled out for the reasons I explained. They are in a position of privilege as a birth right rather than a democratic right. You can?t solve inequality when people like them are given access to state funds to pay for security towards their weddding. You think it?s fair that people are going to food banks and struggling to pay the bills, whilst these wealthy aristocrats are flaunting their state funded wedding on state funded television? It?s just absurd in the 21st century. Louisa.
  22. Jules-and-Boo Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > why pick on the royals? there are many deserving > of the title "Freeloader". It?s not just about them being ?freeloaders? though is it? It?s about what they represent. Unelected privilege. Unlike our elected representatives, these people are not held accountable for anything. Louisa.

Exactly. It seems that it?s ok for the struggling person on the street to be paying towards the wedding of one of the many hangers, yet we can?t afford to give Doctors, Nurses and others pay rises. I think it?s shocking. This guy isn?t even first in line to the throne. They perform nothing but ceremonial BS. We have it shoved down our throats by the media, and the best thing we are offered in response is the so called privilege to watch this circus without a tv licence. Pathetic. Louisa.
  24. If only we could sell the lot of them, lock stock and barrel to Disneyland, we might be able to fund the NHS for a short time at least, save some lives and get some well deserving NHS hard workers some extra pay. Louisa.
  25. Let?s hope not! I?d rather watch paint dry. Louisa.
