  1. Bob I used Udens undertakers recently foloowing the death of a cloe relative, and they did a fine job. I would most certainly use them again.
  2. DPF, if you have read threads I have created on here before, you will notice that I have mentioned more than the 7/11. Edwardes electrical store on the Caffe Nero site is a much missed shop, the old Binnesters toy shop where that over priced coffee shop now operates, the Never on a Sunday restaurant where the texmex place is. I miss many places. :)
  3. I think it's time to Lounge this one :)
  4. DPF, I believe us old school folk have been more than generous in allowing a hippy market along NCR on a saturday morning, blocking up the roads for us folk who want to travel to Bromley to visit some proper shops on a saturday morning. We still have the Castle pub this is true, but it looks as though the Plough is turning gastro, and surely if the mix is still 50/50 in ED, the shops should reflect this. :)
  5. I do not in any way dislike children, and I take this advice as seriously as the next person (if it is true). I do not however support the idea of a lynch mob style thread, where we do not know all the information and are relying on the word of one forum member. Tabloid style bashing based on limited information is not my style, or anyone elses on this forum.
  6. Tillie, that was the idea, and now i'm playing with her! :)
  7. Asset perhaps us old school ED'ers could live side by side in harmony with the new folk if they didn't allow market forces to push out much of the old ways, and help restore something for us which can work alongside your rip-off chippies and boutiques :) The lefty hippy brigade within the newcomers must surely not like the idea of market forces changing the face od ED, in favour of new comers or old timers. :)
  8. Asset, have you contacted the Sun newspaper yet?

"you're a royal pain in the ass and come across as a complete bully particularly to the new comers" I have defended myself against what I believed at the time to be troll-like attempt to attack me following the previous days conversations. I appologised for getting the wrong idea, and the new forum member actually appreciated a bit of online banter, so your observation of bullying this new member is a long way from the truth, and inflamatory. You say "new comers", which other new forum members have I gone out of my way to p*ss off in your view then? you're being obnoxious. "I get quite tense reading some of your vitriol" Well, this is a forum, and perhaps you should at least respond to some of my "vitriol". I find that quite offensive that you think me airing my views and often getting involved in humourous banter as well as sometimes heated debates is somehow "vitriol", thanks a lot. "so I tend to either ignore you or show support to people that defend themselves" So you jump on a bandwagon and rather than confront me and have open aired views on a message forum about ED, you wait til I offend someone else (in your opinion), and then cowardly support the other person just because you dislike me so much. Thanks a lot TillieTrotter, I at last know where I stand with you :)

Asset, I have actually appologised and no I do not like winding people, I just like to tell people how I see it, and if I remember rightly, it was you who was winding me up for most of that conversation! I then make a mistake, appologise for it, and you continue to wind me up by getting a little dig in about how I "sucked you in good and proper yesterday". I actually think you are the one who likes winding people up, how about just leaving it rather than poking at me with a long stick from a distance? And Tillie, how about getting some gumption and saying these things before someone else says them? What a follower :(
  11. DM have you not tried the starbucks Tulse Hill? Not very far to go from ED :)

OK well in that case i'm sorry to hear about your experience at the restaurant and will certainly comment on it next time I am in, and sorry for jumping to comclusions on that one. Oh and welcome to the forum :)

Well it seems strange that you have not posted on here before, and you go straight into a thread created 6 days ago about Le Moulin! Perhaps an introduction first? I seem to have been at the receiving end of quite a few anti-louisa comments these past few days (you know who you are), and then all of a sudden a new poster turns up on the forum putting down the one thing I love most. Seems strange that is all. :(

DPF if someone has booked a table, I can tell you now from first hand experience, they will ALWAYS make sure that they keep their promise of a certain table, I rarely use my name when calling up to book a table, and always manage to get the spot I want. I know them too well, and I know that they just wouldnt do that to someone, honestly. And Jah Lush, the fact you have not seen her posts on here before, may well be something of a giveaway as to her intentions. :)

And I am quite happy to use my democratic right to respond by suggesting that such an incident would never happen at that restaurant because they are always on the ball :)

    Le Moulin

DPF, most of their customers they know on a first name basis, and they have always told me they are more than happy to welcome new people in, which is why I get so frsutrated by the propaganda some people push about on here about how awful the place is! :)
  17. Louisa

    Le Moulin

That would be rude, all I am suggesting is she may well be jumping on the anti-le moulin bandwagon just to please a certain bunch of people who hate the place just for the sake of it Jah Lush. I notice she edited her post 2 times anyhow, hardly backing up her story is it? :)

    Le Moulin

Very dubious I say susyp :)
  19. Louisa

    Le Moulin

I think you have just made that up to be honest susyp. I know Eric and Margaret well, and if you book a certain table there is no way they would stick someone else at that table. Sorry but I am afraid I cannot believe that is true. ;-)

The chip shops up north and in the midlands still use BD, so whats the issue with it in London? :)

    seacow

When I went to the seacow, I noticed they did not sell battered sausages, peters pies or fishcakes, is this wrong? Or was I just not looking properly? :)
  22. Alan Dale I have to agree on this one, I think he has at least raised some important issues here which affect a large number of people in the ED postcode. Sometimes the debate is enhanced if all the issues are aired openly rather being brushed under the carpet. A rubbish analogy I know, but the lack of debate and confrontation of the issues in the local council elections allowed right-wing extremists to become the second largest party on Barking & Dagenham council.
  23. DPF the Herne has yet to make it's mind up what it is, so it could turn into quite a scramble for the rolled up guardian and sun newspapers! And if you lose you are not allowed to bring in back up troops from Islington or Clapham! :)

Jeremy ED is not mine, it belongs to the whole community, but sadly some people feel the need to change the existing community for the "better" of the wealthier people choosing to move here from other locations :) I wonder if those guys with the hoods on their jackets were told to move away from the area once they had purchased their red snapper and french fries? :)
