Thought the attached might be of interest as I took the screenshots just as the first flight went overhead this morning... You will see that there were 17 flights en route and due to land at Heathrow this morning between 0432 and 0600. Departing planes were not taking off before 0600. -

Just a thought but if the Oyster was registered and you alert TFL that it's been stolen they may be able to nab/capture on CCTV the person who stole it when they try to use it?? -

We live on Lordship Lane, down The Plough end, always sleep with the window open can't stand stuffy bedrooms) and I could set my watch by the flights going over. 0435 like clockwork, I wake to them every morning, then roll over and try to go back to sleep. Presume it's the long haulers as I have landed in at Heathrow around 0530-0555 several times in the past 3 months coming back from Asia and Australia on business. I travel a lot for work and have FlightBoard on my iPad and iPhone. It's a live feed from the boards at airports around the world. The Heathrow one has LOADS of flights coming in before 0530. I have also installed FlightTrack on my iPad as that identifies the flights in real-time, will be trying to identify the exact planes. -
Gingerbeer - Japan is where most of the Aussies, Kiwis and Fijians go when their rugby playing days are coming to an end they no longer make the Wallabies or the All Blacks and they are keen to feed their retirement funds. Japan has a thriving, higly competitive scene in which millions of Yen gets invested. Most of the big Japanese brands sponsor a side and the fans go absolutely nuts over the imported players.

Attempted car theft last night (Marmora Road)
EJTH replied to Chris360's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
This was the subject of discussion on Radio4 last week. They recommended you get in touch with BMW as it's a known problem and BMW should be fixing it. It came up in a consumer programme in relation to it affecting your insurance -
You will get turned away from A&E for this sort of injury. My suspected broken wrist was treated at the Urgent Care Clinic at Guys & St Thomas' at London Bridge. Seems to be the one to go to for ED - http://www.guysandstthomas.nhs.uk/our-services/emergency-care/urgent-care-centre.aspx http://www.nhs.uk/Service-Search/Urgent%20Care/LocationSearch/0

Planning permission - how??? Neighbour from hell
EJTH replied to Mabel2001's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If you can, I would move. Awful decision to reach but your peace of mind and enjoyment of your property must come first. If she is doing these things to reduce maintenance she may be feeling her age and worried that she herself might be moved on if she can no longer look after the property. I wonder what inside her place looks like. In my experience, many elderly folk get very defensive and proud about their spaces and don't like admitting they need help or cannot cope. She may just be terrified that someone will investigate more fully and that she ends up in a retirement/care home. Are you aware of any family or friends who visit her you could maybe have a chat to? -
All heading into City. If you have an ipad / iphone and are really geeky I suggest you get the apps FlightBoard and FlightTrack - real time boards at the airport and in the sky. Then you really know when and where they are coming and going from!

Currently no trains in either direction from ED station
EJTH replied to Blondie's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Suggest you all join twitter and follow @BBCTravelAlerts @TFLTravelAlerts @nationalrailenq @SouthernRailUK as they tweet live updates and it's the only reliable way of finding out anything short of turning up at the station. Often faster than their websites. NOTE: Southern are already saying that tomorrow ie Tuesday 22 Jan, they will be running an amended timetable as they are doing today - http://www.southernrailway.com/ and http://www.southernrailway.com/your-journey/plan-my-journey/temporary-timetable-b -
Additional bike lockers at ED station
EJTH replied to Charlie83's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Would lose to see move cycle lockers. Also more cycle lanes and more pedestrian friendly roads. London has to become more Eco oriented like the cities in the Netherlands, Germany etc -
Passing our front door regularly. Lordship Lane gritted and clear.

If you are interested in the work the police are doing with mental health patients/individuals in need of mental health assistance I suggest you follow @MentalHealthCop on twitter.
-
If you or your friends are on Twitter I thoroughly recommend you follow @BBCTravelAlert, @nationalrailenq and @TFLTravelAlerts All tweet in real time and were invaluable in yesterday's chopper crash traffic chaos.

As the original poster on this topic let me assure you I did my homework. Yes I did call Big Issue. They have a real issue with people who are passing themselves off as legit sellers and causing them undue hardship in lost earnings as a result at the moment. All Big Issue sellers have to be registered and wear a tabard and have ID. Yes I did talk to the legit Big Issue vendor Kelvin who operates outside the charity shop. And finally, I have a right to question whoever badgers the hell out of me to buy a Big Issue as I leave a shop especially when she will not show me ID. It is not classist, racist or anything else-ist to check to see what's going on. Big Issue vendors are themselves trying to turn their lives around just they are doing it legitimately, hence why I always buy one, BUT from a badged vendor.

I registered to vote in this election which I have just realised is today but we have heard NOTHING. No forms in the post, no flyers on candidates etc. did anyone else get anything? Do we even know who is standing in East Dulwich? Do we care? I'm more than a little annoyed I forgot about it, but with no info, I guess I shouldn't feel too bad. Anyone shed any light on this?

As someone approaching 50, the thought of just mixing and associating with any single age group turns me cold. My wide group of friends, ie those with whom I have regular face to face and online contact, spans 20s to early 80s. God help me if I ever only socialised with my own age group; have never done that before and have no intention of starting at 50!!!!!

Beware the older woman in green garb and headscarf passing herself odd as a Big Issue seller outside Coop today. She's not wearing an official tabard and has no ID. People like her do a complete disservice to the real Big Issue sellers who are genuinely attempting to earn and honest living. http://www.bigissue.com/about-us If you are looking to buy one check out Kelvin in front of St Chrisopther's Hospice today. Cheery bloke and polite too.

at the Crystal Rd end of Lordship Lane, no CCTV, James. And whilst it's hardly the crime of the century and I love all the saucey comments, forking out for dry cleaning and being late for a meeting wasn't what OH had planned when he went to get the bus. I agree it was an improvement on eggs thoug, and better than the canned spaghetti (minus cans) that adorned a few cars around here the other night! Some people obviuosly have enough money to throw food around.

A reliable train between 0815 and 0830 would be nice
EJTH replied to EDdownunder's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Have you tried catching the 176, 185 or 40 bus to Denmark Hill station and getting the train to LBR from there. Often get them faster and get a seat.
