  1. Good luck Lovelyrita! I can do this coming Monday but not Tuesday, although Tuesdays are normally free so the following week Tuesday would work. So Kate, Bexterboo and Aggie, I will definitely be on for meeting up at The Gardens on Monday at 10.30am - looking forward to seeing you there.
  2. Hi, Congratulations on the recent arrivals! I've been a little out of the loop recently and couldn't make the last two meet-ups as Samuel was born on the 23rd, but I'd be keen to meet up for coffee in the next week or so if anyone fancies it. What about sticking with what sounds as though has been working well and meeting up at The Gardens cafe this Monday 8th at 10am again? Samuel is my second and so I have my two year old at home as well on Wednesdays and Thursdays, so if anyone fancies a toddler meet-up at the park then I'd be very happy to arrange something!
  3. That's great news Ellie! Hope Henry won't be too far behind. Looking forward to meeting you and your boys when they are bigger and life has resumed some sort of normality for you all! Hope the next few weeks go well x
  4. Hi all, Just to confirm plans for Thursday for those of us who can make it. I haven't been able to book a table at Green and Blue because they have an event going on, so shall we meet at the East Dulwich Tavern (EDT) at 8pm instead? Looking forward to seeing some of you there! Cx
  5. Perhaps he's just not quite ready yet? We had the same problem re potty refusal despite showing all the other signs of being ready and willing to wear big boy pants. So after a couple of days of lots of persuasion, bribery and floor mopping we gave up and went back to nappies for a couple of months. Recently we have given toilet training another go and my son was very happy to sit on his potty from the word go with few accidents, which has been soooo much less stressful all round so I think he just wasn't quite there yet first time around. It sounds as though your little one is almost there but maybe wait a few weeks if he's really not keen to sit on his potty at the moment? Oh and a couple of things that might help - watching some of his friends using a potty certainly worked for us, and also I bought a doll's potty and we played sitting some of his favourite toys on it. But I think the main thing was the time being right which obviously has to come from them. Frustrating when you're all geared up to do it!
  6. If you were considering a second-hand buggy, we are selling our Bugaboo Gecko (see the classifieds). Sorry, I know this sounds like a shameless post, but I'm only mentioning it because the Gecko combines the best of both the Bee and the Cameleon! Bugaboo discontinued it after the Bee came out. Essentially it is a smaller version of the Cameleon which means that it is narrower and therefore slightly less cumbersome, like the Bee, but has the advantages of the Cameleon, namely the flat pram attachment and the large rear wheels which makes it very easy to push even on grass which is harder with the Bee. I used it a lot on public transport and never had a problem with buses etc. The downside for us was that, like the Cameleon, it is bulky to fold so we also had a maclaren to keep in the car boot.
  7. Great! Shall we say Green and Blue on Lordship Lane at 8pm on the 30th? I will book a table. Really looking forward to it!
  8. Sounds as though a few of us will be around so shall we organise something for the evening of the 30th? What time would be best - I was thinking maybe 8-8.30pm, which would give those of us with children a chance to get them into bed and grab something to eat beforehand. Does that work? And what about a venue - any preferences? Somewhere on Lordship Lane perhaps? I'm happy to book a table. Hope everyone is coping with the heat! I am feeling very hot and very huge :( Glad it's meant to be getting cooler by the end of the week!
  9. Perhaps a midweek evening would be good this time as summer weekends tend to be busy for people. Just to throw open the floor, how about Thursday 30th August?
  10. Hi, Yes I had fun too! Thanks helbel for booking the table. Hope we can arrange another meet-up soon - I think quite a few of us are due in September so perhaps an evening out in a couple of weeks...?
  11. Ruth, I am sure you've looked into it but was just thinking that rather than a seminar, it might be worth getting some one-to-one advice about sleep? For example Millpond Sleep Clinic are meant to be good and I think offer tailored advice over the phone and via email. (I have no experience of them myself though). It sounds as though you have tried all the standard advice and so a sleep seminar might just repeat everything you already know simply because it would be pitched at a group. Perhaps some tailored advice might be more helpful to your particular circumstances. Sounds really dreadful though - I feel for you! Sleep deprivation just makes life miserable :(
  12. I'm planning to come too - yes I think the plan is for Sunday which is the 12th. Looking forward to meeting those of you who can make it! The Rye sounds good or the Clockhouse which was another previous suggestion.
  13. I've just bought a new cot mattress ready for my second baby and I'm wondering what to do with the old one. It feels irresponsible to give it away when the safety advice is to always buy a new one for a new baby, but as it's in good condition it seems so wasteful just to throw it away. I wondered if anyone had any alternative ideas before I bin it? Thanks!
  14. Am I the only one to think it's a bit weird to ask for photos of a horrible sounding crash to be posted, let alone post them and look at them? Takes rubber necking to a whole new level. Fortunately the driver sounds as though he was okay, but what if he wasn't? Would you post photos then?
  15. I'm with Brierly too and they have always been really good at phoning when they say they will to arrange appointments so don't worry too much! And all of the midwives I've met or spoken to over the phone have been absolutely lovely - you are in great hands!
  16. Definitely not prepared! 10 weeks till my second due and feels like this is the fastest pregnancy in history! My first one draaagggged as I was so impatient but this time it's flown by. Starting to feel a bit daunted at the prospect of juggling two and the chaos a newborn can bring when life is feeling relatively calm - or as calm as it can be with a boisterous 2.5 year old! But really looking forward to enjoying those newborn cuddles again!
  17. Sorry not to have made it on Saturday but definitely count me in for the next meet up! Either date fine for me. Julie, I'm starting maternity leave at the end of July too so a day-time coffee then would be great (and anyone else!) x
  18. Thanks for booking the table vgj1981! Unfortunately I now can't make it tomorrow after all. Sorry not to see those of you going but hope we can arrange another get-together before babies start to make an appearance! Have fun tomorrow x
  19. Hello fellow autumn mummies! I am expecting my second mid-September - I already have a 2.5 year old son. Thank-you for organising a first get-together. I would love to come and really looking forward to meeting some of you on the 30th!
  20. We found the seat way too big at 3-4 months, but my son hated lying flat in the pram. We therefore attached our carseat and used that instead until about 5 or 6 months, which solved the problem.
