Mine were 17 months apart and we had a mountain buggy duet - I walked everywhere with it and loved it - it's so easy to push. I never had a problem getting through any doors. Its quite big to put in a car boot though but if you are using it mainly for walking, I'd really recommend it. I did a lot of research and I'm really glad I went for the mountain buggy duet as it made my life very easy and you can attach a carrycot when they are newborn too.

A driver working there told me its for Notonthehightstreet. There were 2 reindeer in the road earlier!

Theft from Car Oglander road
Goonerjules replied to twinhunters's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Same here - change stolen from our car and they'd rummaged through the glove box and in the boot but it automatically locks so we don't know how they got in and no sign of break in. This happened last week. Thankfully nothing too valuable stolen. -

My Favourite Nursery - what's it like?
Goonerjules replied to Ruth.J.Davies's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Our daughter has been going there for the last 8 months and we are really happy too - her key worker has been great and is really caring. Our daughter loves it so much that she sometimes doesn't want to come home! I agree - I think the satisfactory rating was more about it being new so I wouldn't take too much notice of it. -
double yellow lines in Hindmans Road

This is totally crazy - we returned home yesterday and struggled to park near our house (we have 2 babies) due to the knock on effect further up the road. It seems a bit weird that this could happen with no obvious reason without anyone being warned. Surely it is a mistake. -

Winter babies club (due Dec 2013, Jan/ Feb 2014)

Hi there - I'd like to join your group. I am due with my 2nd on 19th Jan. I only had my daughter last year so still feel like a new mum! I'm also keen to meet any mums who will have two close in age so we can share tips - I think the reality of how hard work it will be having a new born and a 17th mth old is just starting to register! :) I don't go on mat leave until 20th Dec but sometimes work from home and the GE pub is really close to me so i maybe able to pop out for a weekday meet. I will add myself to the FB group if that's ok. Thx -

Hi I'm going to be a 2nd time mum in January. My daughter is only 15mths so I'm keen to meet some mums with 2 close in age as everyone tells me two under two is hard work (eek)! Just seen this thread - I'm probably a bit late to crash your meet up today but I only live round the corner so let me know if its not too late to pop in! If not, hope to meet you at the next one! I had an emergency c-section last year at Kings. I had my daughter 6am on Friday morning and was out by 6pm the next day(Saturday). I really wanted to get home and had no complications but I did have to keep reminding them i was keen to leave. I think it probably helped me that there were no beds on labour ward so I was put in the ward below where everyone around me was in early labour. I'm not sure what would have been worse in terms of noise, lots of babies crying all night or women groaning in pain but after one night of the groaning I wanted to get home to my own bed to get some sleep. Good luck!

My husband gone done there too - clearly judging by all the people caught just on this forum it needs to be made clearer but I guess the council/TFL will lose a lot of money if they do that.

Driving / parking at O2 for concert - worth the grief ?
Goonerjules replied to KidKruger's topic in The Lounge
We've driven a couple of times and stayed in the official car park - getting out was easy and we didn't leave early. Its not the cheapest but its cheaper to book in advance. We may have been lucky but my advice is to park the car right near the car park exit - you have a slighlty longer walk but it means you don't have to queue getting out the car park. We've done this both times and couldn't believe how easy it was. -
Hi there - I just got back from Oz - my daughter was 5 mths when we went. I didn't go on my own but my advice if you haven't booked flights yet is to try and get night flights, Out of all the flights we got, my daughter slept much better when the cabin was dimmed/dark and it meant we could get a bit of sleep too. When it was bright she didn't want to sleep. Also get a bassinet - you have to take the baby out when the fasten seatbelt comes on which is a pain but it really helps having one! My daughter is a good sleeper and jetlag wasn't too bad - it took two or three nights to adjust going there and the same coming back. As everyone else suggests, try to get her on local time ASAP. We took a lightweight maclaren buggy and had a 5 hr stopover in Singapore - we could keep the buggy during transit which again was really useful. A word of warning if you aren't exclusively breastfeeding - we took cartons of formula and the jobsworth at heathrow made us open half (Singapore and Oz didn't bat an eyelid at baby milk) so make ure you buy it air side from boots or you'll end up throwing it away! I've only done the one trip so am no expert and I was dreading it even though i was going with my husband but it really was fine.

Great to meet you all yesterday and thanks for allowing me to gatecrash - I'm the summer mum called Julie! I'm looking forward to the next one & should be able to make 12th. I go on maternity leave at the end of July so if anyone else is on mat leave the first 2 weeks of August & also fancies meeting for a coffee mid-week daytime, I'm happy to do that too! Julie x
