  1. My best friend has just arrived from Oz. I'd really like to take her to a day spa and hang out (quite literally possibly) in white fluffy robes for the day while reading mags, getting treatments and catching up (we haven't seen each other for a year). I'm thinking somewhere like The Sanctuary but it could equally be a spa that's attached to a hotel so we could get a room and not have to worry about travelling home whilst blissed out from all the indulgence. Anyone been to the Sanctuary? Got any other gems you could remommend? Thanks...
  2. Another thumbs up for The Fitting Studio in Forest Hill. Bravissimo good too but if you don't want to travel into town then the women at the Fitting Studio are equally skilled.
  3. Bonniebird, yes, the dog is often outside which is annoying as we have shared access to our repsective houses. Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, am going to give them Dulwich Dogman's details and hope that puts an end to it all. Fingers crossed....
  4. Or has it closed early cos of Bank Holiday?
  5. It's a relatively young dog so am hoping it's not too late to train. Anyone know of a local dog training service that I can pass on to them - pref one that specialises in barking??? For the love of God, please help.
  6. Just wondering if the revamped paddling pool is ready in Brockewell Park? Does anyone know as it would be a great place to go today. If not, is there anywhere similar? My kids are desperate to get involved with some water today. Cheers.
  7. Fabulous suggestions - thanks everyone. Looks like we've narrowed it down to Kefalonia (like the fact we can fly straight in).
  8. Looking for some island recommendations that are kid-friendly. Not sure yet if we want to get a flight and sort out our own accommodation separately or do an all-in package type deal (never done one before, not sure I like the idea of being restricted but am open to suggestions). Thinking of going early July. Any tips/advice very gratefully received.
  9. By best I guess I mean quickest... Thanks.
  10. And I'm wondering what - if anything - was done to address your concerns? I'm assuming whatever was done wasn't enough if you felt the need to take your daughter out of the school. PM me if you'd rather.
  11. Thanks - all sounds very positive. I'm going to see the school next week on the basis on what you've all written and really appreciate everyone's feedback.
  12. I've only just discovered it exists. Anyone care to share their(kids')views/experiences? Ta.
  13. My 3.5 year old would be interested - esp if it's at the weekend. Please keep me posted Artastic.
  14. No, it's not belts cos I can literally wear a t-shirt once and the next time I go to put it on, it's all holed up. I have seen evidence of a few moths in the house but nothing like an infestation. I will follow the advice on here though and go hell for leather on pheromone traps and put lavender/cedar balls in my wardrobe. The little sods always ALWAYS go for my fave tops. So annoying and why always in the same place? Very weird. They never touch my daughter's stuff. Anyway, thanks for all your responses.
  15. Nearly all my t-shirts seem to be developing tiny holes. And they're always around the same place: low down, belly button-ish area. It's not due to belts. Is it moths? I didnt think they liked cotton. It's driving me mad. No sooner do I buy something than it's riddled with tiny holes.
  16. Right first time Ruffers, the sand is preventing the disc from spinning. Though who'd have thought half a teaspoon of sand could cause such a kerfuffle. Am going to try the WD40 trick tonight and if not then take out the u-bend and see if that helps. Thanks so much for all your advice everybody...
  17. We've just had a new sink fitted with a pivot/swivel type plug that comes already fitted in the sink. My daughter has emptied sand in the sink and now the plug is completely stuck fast. No amount of brute force (with a hammer) is budging it. Apart from replacing the entire unit, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks...
  18. Hi plimsoul, just wanted to say that we followed your advice and went to Tate on Sunday. It was great - plenty to do for kids and parents alike. Thanks for the suggestion.
  19. Everything that we'd planned to do over Easter with our two and a half year old don't really work in the rain. Anyone got any inspired places/activities - near or far(ish) - that can keep us amused? Thanks.
  20. Thanks everyone - some brilliant ideas. Have followed Smiler's advice and tacked up some bin liners just to see if it actually is the pesky sun that's responsible. If it isn't then I'm just going to have to get used to my new routine and pray that the clocks changing next week will have some effect.
  21. My 2 year old has gone from getting up at 8am to a mind boggling 5.30am. Think it's to do with the new lighter mornings. We currently have blinds in her room with blackout material on the back but the light creeps in round the outside. Anyone know of a blackout solution that we can fix directly onto the window frames? I guess it would need velcro fastening or similar? Any help much appreciated.
  22. That'll do. Thanks v much.
  23. Want the privacy of a curtained off booth, can't bear the thought of going into a print/photo shop to get my passport photo done... Thanks.
  24. Bit general but my daughter has just got a place at the kindergarten to start in September. Anyone whose kids go there, what are your thoughts on the school...? Many thanks.
  25. It worked! Vince - you're a legend. Thanks so much for speedy response x
