  1. One day comrades the acceptable face of capitalism will be ground into the filthy mire by the workers steel toecaps!
  2. Is it really filmed round our neck of the woods? As for Ideal, I do have a soft spot for that too...not so laugh out loud but very surreal.
  3. -- moved topic --
  4. Well, its closer than Baltimore.(The Wire thread)
  5. The thought did cross my mind that it was some sort of Tory stronghold but I'm not planning to raise funds for a Burn the Poor People fund...just want a game of snooker.
  6. Bingo.
  7. Funnily enough I went to a place in East Dulwich today to sign up for membership to a place just off LL(the street name eludes me)that has 5 snooker tables(2 quid an hour). Its a proper old social club too so cheap beer and cardboard beermats too. I'll get back to you with the address sometime tonight.
  8. I'm not really one for bigging up TV(unless its The Wire) but I do like good well observed comedy and thats exactly what Pulling has been. At last a sitcom written for women by women that is sharp, well observed and at times painful to watch. The characters are beautifully drawn and all too believable and manage to make the age old theme of The Quest for Love and acceptance delightfully fresh. These ladies are almost frighteningly dysfunctional, vain and desperate....and did I mention that it was very, very funny? Try and catch it on Iplayer or something. It deserves a bigger audience.
  9. I saw the blighters too. I know they were filming for a new series featuring that tasty sort(ex-eastenders, nightmare fringe) who is currently in the woeful Bionic woman around abouts a couple of weeks ago.
  10. Dont make a fuss just get on the bus. I cant wait until they pedestrianise the whole of London and create a special lane just for me and my Sedan Chair. Bring on the future!
  11. Its a good idea to get up to the library and check out the 1001 best albums promotions that they have on at the mo. They have a ll 1001 albums and there are a quite a few electronic masterpieces among the usual suspects. If you like jazz try Roni Sizes 'Newforms' a stunning blend of jazz, soaring vocals and rolling beats that has real longevity(10 years and counting).LTJ Bukems 'Logical Progression' is a slab of jazz tinged D&B that is near as damned perfect.
  12. These are the sort of people who were 'just following orders' under the Nazis. Small men with even smaller...
  13. How cryptic.
  14. East Dulwich library have the 1001 greatest albums(who voted them that I have no idea)for rent(alongside a weighty tome entitled the 1001 greate...you get the drift) Their 2 for 1 as well so an ideal time to fill in the voids in your musical catalogue. Not that I'm advocating you burn them off or anything...God forbid.
  15. Peculiar post gigirl.
  16. Ah, Zelda. Barren are the years between new releases...although, The Twilight Princess lacked a certain something. Dont get me wrong it was great in parts but...I dunno, t'was lacking something. As for FF, I made the mistake of playing The Crystal Chronicles on The Gamecube and quite frankly it stank the place out. I've run in fear from all other FF games since. Shame.
  17. Bum fun. Rubbish.
  18. Blimey, I didnt know that Wenger himself used this forum.
  19. Gooners eh? S'funny how the fans of south Londons largest soccer franchise are getting as stroppy and paranoid as their manager...lets hope for all their sakes they dont start looking like the blind old fool.
  20. ...who knows but its sure to serve a damned good cup of coffee.
  21. Well, look on the bright side Sandperson if Jackie Brown has taken possession of your girlfriend then you are in for some eyepoppin' lovin' blaxploitation style. The only question is have you got what it takes to please a real woman? Answers on a beermat to.........
  22. Yeah, your right they are noise blighters when on the job...and apparently its only humans and certain primates who actively enjoy sex. Judging by the almighty racket brer fox and his missus make I can well believe it, sounds downright painful.
  23. I'm listening to Fabric 32 mixed by Luke Slater and it is deliciously dark. Most of the DJ Kicks(K7!) compilation cds are in a world of their own when it comes to quality and diversity. If you want some avant garde weirdness check out Autechres ouvre. Orbital are always pretty reliable as are Underworld. Most of the stuff on Ninja Tunes is very good. If you want an absolute classic try The Aphex Twins Selected Ambient works Vol.1. Plus all the above reccomendations...and you're right, electronic music is the balls.;-)
  24. Ha. God love the French and their spiky ways. When I was living in Brittany a local town(Pontivy) in a fit of anti-globalisation pique situated their McDonalds(that had been foisted upon them) right next to the local rendering factory, and mon dieu it stank to high heaven. At least they stick up for themselves, we could learn a lot from our Gallic cousins. But your right, it was probably them what made the smell.
