Really enjoying the new Tomb Raider, they've managed to capture the atmosphere of the original games whilst fixing the crappy camera and bollox jumping mechanics. Thoroughly entertaining and a welcome return to form for Ms.Croft. Thumbs up to Square & Crystal Dynamics.
I'm with you Steveo, I cant pinpoint why I find her objectionable but I do. It cant be that faint air of smugness because thats de rigeur for any ubiquitous panel show botherer. Although Perkins' ability pales when compared to her erstwhile stage partner Mel Grrfnaarfal(its Welsh and yes that is how you spell it). She has her very own 'entertainment' show on radio 4 extra at 4pm daily and as soon as her clucky, patronising tones start wafting out of the DAB like a stale turd its dial is kicked clean off in an act of extreme prejudice.
Yeah, I hoovered it up quick time. I thought spacey was at his slippery, slightly camp best and my main fear that the adaptation wouldnt have the guts to go all the way with Urquart were thankfully unrealised. Bravo I say.
Thanks, I downloaded it last night and had a little go on it. Unfortunately my laptops gone tortoiselike recently so there was an annoying lag whenever I turned around or moved forward through the forest which kinda ruined it a little for me. Certainly atmospheric and I must admit I did give out a little yelp of terror when the slender man turned up for the first time.
Hmm, must be missing something regarding the Slender download because all I ended up with was a raft of Microsoft office clones installed on my desktop. Annoying.
Reprising Ian Richardsons role as the sinister Urquart in an American remake of Beeb classic House of Cards with Kevin Spacey playing the political douchebag. Netflix have just released the entire season to watch in one glorious chunk of drama from today. It'd be interesting to see if it garners universal acclaim or topples like a h.....well, you get the drift.
Oh yes, though a few years ago now. We used to buy it from a Costcutters in Stockwell, bruise it then boil it up(branches'n'all)with lemon, sugar and a few teabags. Tasted rough but had the desired effect. None of this chewing it nonsense.
Referring to yourself in the first person is the more worrying development, this is the strict preserve of the likes of Ricky Hatton & Chris Eubank...oh, and whack a few Chipotle chillis in yer carne for good measure.
You know you've hurt the old bugger when he starts lambasting the Ref. Well worth the point and on another day the full quota of points for the season from the Red Peril would have been ours.
On the psychopathic duo, they reminded me strongly of the vicious pair Goss & Subby who featured in China Mievilles 'Kraken'. Refreshing stuff in a sea of bland old formulaic nonsense.
Secret State? I think I watched that on Netflix and really enjoyed it. One of Cagney & Lacey were in it if memory serves along with Jason Issacs. I love a good thriller I do.
