Penalty Charge Notices aren't issued retrospectively so reporting it would probably be a sensible move. The police should also know about the location of the CCTV on LL.
  2. Aha. Thanks Huguenot. Still irks me though.
  3. Misspelling company names generally doesn't irk me and it's often humorous. I know it's a common linguistic naming strategy to make them more distinctive etc. However, the old Burnet Ware estate agent on the corner of Peckham Rye is now 'KUMON (sic) - Maths & English study centre' (one of over 600 franchises apparently). It may be distinctive, tongue-in-cheek, attempt at humour, whatever, but it certainly doesn't work for me. It's an English study centre, for Pete's sake.

Today's TFL E-mail: Dear With only a few days to go until the London 2012 Games, I am writing to remind you to plan ahead to avoid delays. Predicted wait times to board trains London Bridge station will be exceptionally busy during peak hours. Please avoid this station if possible. Waiting times to board trains are expected to be longer than 30 minutes on certain dates and at certain times. For full information including a breakdown of predicted waiting times forecast at the station for each day of the Games, please click here and scroll down The busiest day will be Monday 30 July; a one way system will be in operation at the National Rail station. Between 1800‑2200, passengers will not be able to access platforms 1‑6 for Southeastern and First Capital Connect train services. Trains will call at London Bridge only to allow passengers to disembark. These services will still be running and can be accessed at Cannon Street or Charing Cross. Don?t get caught out in the first few days Friday 27 July ? Last day of the Torch Relay and the Opening Ceremony. Please avoid the Stratford area after 1500 unless you have a ticket. Saturday 28 July/Sunday 29 July ? Men?s and Women?s Olympic Cycling Road Race. Avoid driving in central and south west London. Friday 3 August/Saturday 4 August ? Athletics events start at the Olympic Stadium. Stratford will be exceptionally busy on these dates; please avoid the area unless your journey is essential. Road events As well as the large road events on 28 and 29 July mentioned above, there are also a number of other road events on the following dates: 31 July; 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 11 and 12 August and 9 September. Bus diversions and road closures will be in place. As every day of the Games is different, we will be sending you daily email travel alerts with advice about key hotspots that you will need to avoid the following day during both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. To plan your Games time journey, please visit tfl.gov.uk/2012planner Many bus routes will be on diversion. 5. Same here. Twice today.
  6. A quick Google tells me that Target Arms was at 165 LL which is now Daisy Lets.
  7. ORN routes, Games Lanes, Olympic Flame road closures et al. For those who have to drive for work and reluctantly we do, is this potentially a nightmare? Absolutely. F.y.i., today's update E-mail from TFL: Dear I am writing to let you know that the final preparatory works on the Olympic Route Network (ORN) are underway this weekend, so London?s road network will look and feel very different by Monday morning. The ORN and Games Lanes restrictions will be apply from 0600 Wednesday 25 July. To watch a short video explaining how the ORN and Games Lanes work, please click here Olympic Route Network (ORN) explained The ORN is a road network linking Games venues and other key sites. Normal traffic can use most of the ORN, although there will be temporary changes such as suspended turns, stopping and loading restrictions and changes to traffic signal timings. Stopping or parking on the ORN will result in a ?130 penalty charge and your vehicle may be towed away. Games Lanes Some lanes on ORN roads will be reserved as Games Lanes and are for use by athletes, officials and the world?s media. The vast majority of Games Lanes are in outside lanes. In these cases, normal traffic can use the adjacent lane(s). Driving in a Games Lane will result in a ?130 penalty charge. When you can use Games Lanes Games Lanes will be very busy. They will be for the use of Games vehicles only from 0600?midnight. If Games Lanes are less busy, they will be switched off and electronic signs will indicate that normal traffic can use them. Olympic Torch Relay The Olympic Flame will be visiting every Borough in London this week. Roads will be temporarily closed before it arrives and will be exceptionally busy, particularly on Thursday 26 July. Please do not drive to see the Torch and consider watching in your local area or close to your place of work. For more information, please visit getaheadofthegames.com Yours sincerely, Vernon Everitt Managing Director, Marketing and Communications
  8. Goodrich teachers' end of year disco/knees up?
  9. Or a drop-in centre for all those occasional cigarette smoking East Dulwich prostitutes? Mazel Tov.

Update: Collected them from Highshore Road Peckham. That's the first tickets sorted. Let's see what happens with lots 2 and 3. Let the Games begin.

Never saw anyone going in or coming out of there. Any idea as to which eatery/home furnishings/gift shop/farm shop it is these days?
  12. And so the nightmare begins. We chose not to collect and had that option. Got E-mail & text from Royal mail at 0636am today: Dear Customer, Royal Mail has received your item from London2012 at Peckham DO Delivery Office. Your item is now ready for delivery and we will attempt to deliver it today subject to any alternative instructions that you have previously agreed with us. Regards, Royal Mail . . . And now got this text and E-mail: Dear Customer, Royal Mail was unable to deliver your item from LONDON 2012 today. . . yadda yadda yadda and to see the card left. Bo**ocks. One of us has been right by the door all morning - no attempted delivery and no card. And I thought the postal option would have been easier than the schlep to collect in person. And so it goes. . .
  13. jimbo1964 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I think it was a different memorabilia shop. This > would have been 1974 ish. Ok. What did the one on LL become? I went in there once circa 1990.
  14. jimbo1964 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The military memorabilia shop on Northcross Rd > (next to Emiliy's). I remember an SS paratrooper > uniform on display in the window. Did that move to Lordship Lane? Or were there 2 military memorabilia shops?
  15. Whatever happened to the military memorabilia shop on LL? We went in there once. On the same side as Franklins but located somewhere before that.
  16. Understood. However, in theory, you have the option "If any other information that is provided as part of the application which falls within the definition of personal data under the Data Protection Act and is not to be published on the council's website, please contact the council's planning department".
  17. Apart from it being factually inaccurate and that the company may or may not exist, it seems that there has been a fundamental breach of data protection otherwise how would a third party have your details and knowledge of the application? Are there other details eg a telephone contact number to arrange the 'survey'? In any event, be interesting to know what Southwark have to say about it. I'll be watching this space.

  19. Bic Basher Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > > Amazon now use the infamous courier company Yodel > who have a bad rep. We use Amazon a lot. Smaller items still come by post yet larger ones outsourced to Yodel. They are diabolical - totally unreliable & unprofessional. From my understanding, they're independent self employed couriers, like Hermes (also dreadful). After a 3rd failure, we complained to Amazon customer services (online) and they switched to UPS immediately. Can't fault the way Amazon handled it. As for Royal Mail and ParcelForce, recently we too have had missing mail as well as delivery notices left while we were in. Highshore Rd office couldn't find last week's delivery. And so it goes.
  20. Sweet Jesus. Is nothing sacred?!
  21. Before you sign the petition there's the fine print: "If you agree, the Liberal Democrats and their elected representatives may use the information you provide to contact you about issues you may find of interest. Some of the contacts may be automated. You can opt out of these contacts at any time by contacting us."
  22. > However to the best of my knowledge there has not > been 24/7 opening there for years? Indeed. It's been closed more than it's been open for years. They've been reducing the facilities there ever since they moved the Mounted Branch horses out. There's often a notice on the door referring you to Peckham where you sit for hours with offenders waiting to 'sign in'. Nice.
  23. Administrator Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > So your thread about Le Chandelier, posted after > the announcement that there should be no threads > about Le Chandelier, was removed and you want to > know why? Oh come on now Admin, you know full well that it was NOT about Le Chandelier (which I will refer to as 'that place', so that should please all & sundry). It was about gagging - which you have done. It raised similar points as showboat, alan m etc above. So, you see Admin, it breached no rules and I again ask that you reinstate my post that referred to 'that place'. It was not libellous nor illegal.
  24. Admin, can you please tell me what happened to my thread on the same topic following Le Chandalier's announcement? As far as I am aware it didn't breach your rules so I would very much like to see it reinstated in it's appropriate place, please.
