Just fantasising here. . . Aidan Quinn as Carlos The Jackal in 'The Assignment' or the actual Carlos?

These assailants plus the 9/11 & 7/7, Boston perpetrators and so on could arguably all be sociopaths, and nihilists and narcissists and many other things however I stick by the term 'terrorist'. Perhaps this UN's description clarifies my point: "Criminal acts intended or calculated to provoke a state of terror in the general public, a group of persons or particular persons for political purposes are in any circumstance unjustifiable, whatever the considerations of a political, philosophical, ideological, racial, ethnic, religious or any other nature that may be invoked to justify them." You may call it political claptrap, but to these (and the others yet to come), the ideology and motivation legitimise the act and more significantly, it satisfies vengeance. It is wholly repugnant.
  5. Have never found good sushi in London without heading up town, over the river. Even there it's hit and miss. One day you're having relatively good sushi, the next it's all crab sticks. Crab sticks! What's with crab sticks in every 'seafood' concoction - be it in Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean. . ? Even in New York, sushi joints aren't what they used to be. If you've eaten sushi in Japan, then nothing really compares imho. But I digress. Back to SE22 sushi. Like so many things such as unicorns, the fountain of youth and a flattering snapshot taken from a low angle, SE22 sushi simply does not exist. Off to break the news to the kids about the tooth fairy.

  12. Tom Ward or John Gregory - The Seventh Son?
  13. perhaps either: performance street artist; flash mobber who got the day & time wrong and is going solo nonetheless or *copy & paste* 'care in the community' - the likely scenario.
  14. Ray Ferrier, from War of the Worlds?
  15. Train to Brighton? Meandering around the Lanes. The Bowie exhibition at the V & A is really quite good. Head to the East End - as Vickster suggests - Spitalfields, Brick Lane (bagels & salt beef sandwiches much cheaper than Selfridges and just as good) and Columbia Rd on Sunday morning. Bring home a load of bagels and flowers and whatever treats you've picked up for yourself. Enjoy.

On Easyjet, there is no weight limit on cabin baggage though it has announced that passengers who want to be guaranteed their luggage will be stored in the cabin will need to stick to a bag size of 50cmx40cmx20cm from 2 July. So, your hand luggage will need to be 37 per cent smaller than the current standard size or it may go into the hold and therefore part of your weighed allowance.
