For info about local Estates being regenerated but there residents not benefiting follow 35% on Twitter @35percent_EAN Many Southwark estates are redeveloped or new developments built with a threshold of social housing stated in the plans that is not met in reality. Elephant estate is a prime example.

Ah, Southwark Council, water features and Peckham Rye Park..... a recurring issue that seems incapable of solution. In 2014 I was on here talking about the renovation and lamenting the poor design of the previous iteration of ?improvements? to Peckham Rye. The uphill flowing stream was a special touch that lasted about 3 weeks before being switched off never to see water again. Renata the councillor is usually the best bet for these issues. 😉 good luck

Lost: black Labrador, Court Lane area
katgod replied to katgod's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Thank you for reading- she?s been found the other side of Lordship Lane - thanks so much to the people that were looking after her. -
Please contact me ASAP if you see a black Labrador in the Court Lane/Lordship Lane area. I think the fireworks have spooked her. Many thanks.

Rye lane walk & cycle only from 6/7
katgod replied to rollflick's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Our MO says she will write to TfL regarding the lack of a bus stop near the station now. Hope they take note. -
Amazing that at a London airport airport last week 100% of the people managed to wear a mask. Because they really wanted to go on holiday and didn?t want to risk being kicked out. Boiling hot overseas tourist ?must see? outdoor monument- 100% of the people wearing one. People will wear one when it suits them to.

Rye lane walk & cycle only from 6/7

I have tried to discuss this on the navel gazing Dulwich Safer Streets thread over on the main page. So short sighted to not deal with bus routes. Improving air quality and encouraging walking and cycling but not thinking about public transport is just madness. -
The planning point is important. Hate to break the DV bubble but lots of ED residents get the bus to Peckham to get on the train. Thru is isn?t all car v bike. Most people use a mixtures if modes of transport. And now Rye Lane is closed and there?s no bus stop near the station. This is not joined up planning. Rye Lane has minimal car traffic anyway. It did have lots of buses. Southwark needs to plan better.

Surely a bus stop can be put on Copeland Road. Madness to have a big station like Peckham Rye with no bus stop near by??

Late Night Gatherings In Peckham Rye Park
katgod replied to fishboy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Think the residents of Dovercourt and a Woodward Roads were calling the police due to parties on Alleyn?s top field. Richard Livingstone replies to emails. Worth trying to contact him. -
No there is nothing like this on Heber Road. Nearby examples include Harris Primary on Landcroft Road (junction with Whateley Road and Sylvester Road), the area outside the school is closed to traffic by a big concertina style barrier that is wheeled in and out of the school playground for 45 minutes or so around pick up and drop off times. Nothing permanent except the signs warning of the street closure. Bessemer Grange school has a different solution with bollards in the road that are raised and lowered at the busy times. I would think the Landcroft Road approach would work fine at Goodrich. Permanent closure seems very heavy handed.

Wow. Erika did midwifery for all 3 of mine. She was in the room when the youngest was delivered ( by Erika?s student). Even thinking about her makes me well up, she came to see a friend of mine about 3 years after my youngest was born and even the sound of Erika?s voice made me cry and I was in pieces when she came in the room. Hasten to add these are happy/emotional tears. Will never ever forget her and how kind and professional she was. I felt bereft when home visits stopped after child 1 was born. A very happy retirement to her. Please stick me in the scrap book! Mine are 16, 13 and 10.

After school nanny - how do you find one?
katgod replied to Lau's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Koru Kids is an agency that specialises in this area. Recommend. -
Re street schools at Harris- totally different situation. Harris one affects about 10 houses on a quiet back street with a very obvious way round, numerous other options to avoid it. It is also in place approx 8.30-9.15 and 2.45 -3.45 ( that?s not exact, but it?s clearly tied to school drop off times). Big metal barriers on wheels rolled out to block the road then moved back out of the way. Why they can?t wait til ULEZ in place??

Thank you for the heads up about the Spine and loss of parking spaces. Unbelievable. East Dulwich ward seems to have been massively underrepresented at the first stage. Need to stop there double yellows. See link bargee posted above.

Please see the thread on the Southwark Cycling Spine and loss of 43 parking spaces between Great Exhibition and Castle, please reply to the consultation. Make your neighbours aware too.
