Public Grief - Warning Contentious Subject
vivienne replied to Marmora Man's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Possibly a bunch of flowers left at the roadside by a family member who lost a loved one in an un necessary accident satisfies a need in that person to let people know what has occurred. When death comes suddenly, those left behind are left wondering how the world can possibly carry on "as if nothing had happened" . When another member of the public places flowers at that place they are showing empathy, sympathy. But I do wish that everyone would think of the consequences of the leaving of :(toys and flowers wrapped in cellophane which all end up looking a horrible mess. -
"I am merely taking the piss out of many posters who seem to have their heads burrowed deep in their botties." No wonder you're puzzled, I think you'll find it is dogs that do that....bury their heads up each others botties as you so sweetly say!>:D< !

Pull The Other One's Monthly Comedy club specializing in Variety and Extravagance has been running for two years now At THE IVY HOUSE,40 Stuart Rd SE15 3BE This Varietous evening held on the final Friday of each month is the comedy love child of a local couple who bill themselves as Pierrette S'Cobaz and The Invisible Man .. They have, without the aid of a budget or safety net, committed themselves to creating an evenings entertainment that they themselves would wish to attend. It appears their taste is widely shared. To date, purely through good old fashioned word of mouth and some rather ingenious (if not slightly Edwardian) advertizing including dedicated leafleting of local commuters, use of cycles and van hoardings. The "Pull The Other One" variety night has attracted a healthy local audience who have had the pleasure of experiencing over the last two years: Arthur Smith, Omid Djahlili, Simon Munnery, Felix Dexter Boothby Graffoe Owen O'Neill, Earl Okin Kevin Eldon as Paul hamilton John Hegley & Andrew Bailey Tom Binns as Ivan Brackenbury Oram and Meeten Phil Nichol, Nick Revell, Otiz Cannelloni Wingnut Dominic Holland Inder Manocha The Great Voltini all performing amongst a myriad of Speciality, Variety and Downright pure New Talent (most of it local). Next Month on the 28th May Stewart Lee, one of the finest comedians this country's ever produced, Mr Time Out Top Ten himself, the creator of ?Jerry Springer: The Opera? will be performing alongside Matthew Robins' delicate episodic operatic shadow puppet act "Flyboy contemplates his own death" In July Arthur Smith will be returning and after the summer break John Hegley has accepted an invitation to return in September by popular demand. contact [email protected] for more info and reservations:)-D

Has anyone noticed that Richy T has been absent since all the above? It was a simple request after all. Isn't there something that happens at the plough for budding musicians on a sunday night?

I always shop at Naz's in Nunhead lane, he's helpful, personable, sell s lovely Ham off the bone and artichoke hearts, great sausages, lovely bacon etc....When I lived in Peckham I used to shop regularly at the butchers at the top of Rye Lane with the dummie outside looking all jolly in a red and white striped apron.....I liked the Music that they played in there and always got my chicken breasts stripped so I could hang out. Cant remember what the meat tssted like, It was back in 1998 and I was even poorer than I am now AND I had two children under ten...they are both still alive and thriving so I guess it was all ok.

I signed up with great haste and no forethought and rather regret it now, wishing that I could hide a little..

Fine for enterting no entry zone in Peckham (Lounged)
vivienne replied to seanmlow's topic in The Lounge
I think that might have been me. I just got a fine through today...and this is AFTER i had read all your fine talk. I have lived in Peckham for twenty years and have always known this is no entry to vehicles so there is no excuse, in fact I can't believe I've done it so I'm going to the parking shop to look at the video. My only explanation to myself is that maybe one day I just thought I was riding my bike when in fact I was driving !!! ?60 for daydreaming on the road! its a fair cop! -
I think there would be too many objections regards "overlooking" etc...didn't you like the idea of the shuttle better?
