  1. Yet another recommendation for Paul Knight, who has lived up to all the glowing plaudits here on the forum. Efficient, reasonably priced, and a delight to deal with!
  2. When I posted my comment about NoFlies on June 10th I was going by what I?d heard about them, and decided to use them to sell our house. Now that we?re within sniffing distance of exchanging contracts (yes - it really has been that quick!) I feel even more confident about recommending them.
  3. How much do they cost?

  5. Last week we posted two packages to different addresses in the Midlands at the Lordship Lane post office. One of them reached its destination the following morning. There?s still no sign of the other one.
  6. Yes, I?ve heard lots of praise for NoFlies too, which is why I found the other estate agent thread so puzzling

    Tesco

Tesco came to our rescue when Ocado, Sainsbury?s et al rejected us because we weren?t already regular customers, so we?re staying with them if we can, in spite of all Ocado?s recent seductive advances.

    Tesco

Is anybody else having problems with their Tesco online groceries today? Being ?sheltered? were totally reliant on their excellent service and seldom a day goes by when we don?t need to log on and add stuff to our order.. But today I keep getting ?cannot connect to server? messages. I do hope it?s only a short blip!
  9. Do try the Mobile Data trick. It really works (see my earlier message). Edited to add that it only works on my phone. Just discovered that my iPad doesn?t even have a MobileData facility. Jk
  10. Try going into Settings and turn Mobile Data on. If this message appears on the forum, that?s confirmation that that tactic works.
  11. A parcel has just been mis-delivered to me. Right house number, but the wrong road. My fault, really, because I picked it up from my doorstep and thanked the delivery chap, but didn?t look at the address label until I reached the kitchen. By which time it was, of course, too late. In the ordinary way I?d have trotted round to deliver it myself but I?m in the ?extremely vulnerable? group and daren?t venture beyond my front door, so I?m relying on the Forum to help reunite Alice with her box of goodies.
  12. Memsaab seems to be closed for online orders. ?We are on holiday?
  13. Memsaab seems to be closed today. We tried to order a delivery but no success - ?We are on holiday?
  14. Ask 111. Or your GP. If anyone knows, they should.
  15. A HUGE THANK-YOU To all the lovely ED people who have, both on here and via PMs, offered to help us. Thanks to you, the lockdown is no longer a frightening prospect, and I can even look forward to the (very occasional!) prospect of a fish pie. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
  16. We?re in North Cross Road, which is, I think,a bit out of your way.
  17. As a couple of octogenarians with ?underlying health conditions? we have been totally locked down for quite a few weeks now, but have managed quite well thanks to our son?s emergency deliveries. However, now he?s housebound too, we?re really having problems with our milk supply. Does anyone know of a firm that would make regular deliveries of milk?
  18. And when you?ve listened to this heartbreaking interview, go to the What?s On section and see what Chick has to say. (It?s the thread about a Thursday night film club). Unbelievable !!
  19. I?ve never felt a need to get plants from anywhere else than the Cade Street stall. Now that I?m in lockdown I really miss my Saturday routine, but I?m looking forward to browsing their website and having things to plant during the week. I do so agree with JMK - we must cherish these hardworking independent traders.
  20. Or (if you know where they live) put it on their front doorstep?
  21. What oft was thought, but ne?er so well express?d

    Virgin Vs Sky?

    Virgin?s after-sales service is excellent.

    Gerry the Plumber

We had problems with a blocked sink, which Gerry realised had been incorrectly installed. He was able to modify the fittings with considerable ingenuity, at a very reasonable cost.
  24. Just be grateful they?re not peacocks
