  1. polish church?s sell them Nearest Is Balham Only just seen this post the traditional time to share the oplatek is Christmas Eve as the first star appears in the sky But so Tim we put an English twist on it and shared on Christmas Day The church will be open for midnight mass so get them then ?
  2. I was in no way having a go Any new venture is welcome particularly in these difficult time I certainly want this venture to succeed Locals are unlikely to book a meal if they don?t know about it Every time someone write on here the venture gets bumped up the list so making it more visible Due to CV I cannot get up n about so would not have seen any sign of opening at the premises. It might be useful to tell the owners about the forum to maximise publicity Once we are able to be up n about am looking forward to a meal there
  3. The guys running this new new very welcome venture are clearly not looking at the posts on this forum Which is a shame - presume not locals Jocky - how did you come to find out about it and post on the forum ? We are doing a great job of bumping up this post so lots of awareness without any effort from owners !
  4. EDIT - just located website :- https://www.kartuli.co.uk/ But no menu or booking form yet - I will be looking for a discount on my first Visit as I seem to be doing the PR for this venture The website does have an extensive wine list tho!
  5. Good to see someone brave enough to open a restaurant in these time This will make a nice addition to the choice of eateries in Dulwich Georgian food has a bit of a ?Middle Eastern? feel Would it not be a good idea to post a menu on here? Cannot locate a website where one can place an order or see the menu !
  6. Sainsbury?s Lordship Lane at the Plough opposite Dulwich library take old batteries
  7. We made our own - just need some Spare material, paper clip , and a sewing machine Just google make a mask Example I suppose hand sticking will just take longer if no machine but it will help pass the time
  8. As I was leaving the park after my run a couple were just entering and made way for me in the small pedestrian entrance.set me thinking - why not have in / out entrances ? Was pondering about this while running next day - running is boring so good time to think about problem solving Was wondering how a one way system could be instigated. On leaving the park I noticed - the two pedestrian entrances either side of closed main gate are labelled IN and other OUT problem solved - can we stick to this from now on ? Lived near the gates for a while and never noticed the in / out labels - do older residents remember them ever being enforced ?
  9. Seems like a great idea - personally not too keen on the lack of meat but each to his own good luck with this venture
  10. The wild garlic is a bloody pest - keep trying to eradicate it in my garden and the darn thing keeps coming back.Yor are welcome to come around and dig the whole lot up - will not charge you a bean
  11. Why charter? we have a large population children at the 'wonderful' private schools. Statistically more likely to be them ?
  12. So do agree - the proposals will push much more traffic onto the main roads . The school in the village will experience a big increase in traffic and children will be walking though much more pollution. There is a new school on Lordship Lane which also will be carrying all the displaced traffic. Is there evidence that there is a much higher incidence of respiratory problems in leafy Dulwich ? What is the evidence ? I have lived in east London and Catford - if you want to know what pollution feels like go there! The levels of pollution will go down when the ULEZ Is extended to the south circular and there is an increase in use of electric cars. The current proposals will just shift the problem elsewhere.
  13. Did the Dulwich Society ask it?s 1000 plus members before responding ?
  14. Wonderful - good signal is needed in that area
  15. I heard this on LBC - described ED as Camberwell - I think it?s a case of anywhere south of river ? hear be monsters ?
  16. Always check out the seller on this forum - you can easily see see what they have sold in the past . If the seller seems new to the forum then I would be cautious . If they seem to just be selling phones another reason for caution . My favourite seller has a history of just selling a few odd household items and a history of posting opinions about a wide variety of Easy Dulwich topics
  17. I just find the idea of an adult putting a child " over my knee". to administer punishment rather chilling and sinister. I am not campaigning anti smacker but now regret giving my own children 'the odd smack' - times have changed and that is for the better. I was smacked at school in the fifties and never thought it was a good idea then!
  18. No water at all near library
  19. The bus lane IS operational at all times - people seem to think it's ok to go in it if turning left it is NOT please just wait in the right hand lane and indicate a left turn it's not difficult.
  20. The best is Lesnes Abbey Woods, sometimes known as Abbey Wood, is an area of ancient woodland in southeast London, Oxleas Wood has Abbey ruins where the kids can run around and explore, also Formal gardens with a nice cafe Ponds and Playground facilities. There is a vast area known as Bluebell Woods the whole forest floor is just covered with blue. http://www.visitlesnes.co.uk/visitor-information
  21. Sainsbury do sell a reasonable range of 'fresh' pasta - but good luck to anyone who is able to attract enough customers who are prepared to pay a lot more for a bit of ' ambience'
  22. This is the leaflet I presume. did find it informative to a degree but a bit suspicious when originators identity is unclear.Presume from someone who wants to set up some local 'action group '
  23. Very impressed with the standard of informed debate on this topic - and no silly slagging off or snide comments for daring to have an opinion
  24. I have responded to some of these ' groupon ' type deals - they have been very good from my experience and seem to be a bargain
  25. Can't myself see any thing wrong with the argument as set out in your post. No doubt beneficiaries of the education provided in Dulwich will be able to point out the flaws in your argument.
