I'm unashamedly loving it which I wasn't expecting! I'm also blaming the baby hormones but those two are filling me with romance and hope!

Recommendations for nursing necklace

I'm Nunhead/Peckham Rye but can meet wherever. Sophie when do you expect to be out and about again? x -
I have been thinking about your items and wanted to say, don't undercharge! A lovely knitted item is worth more than a mass produced cotton thingy and will have taken a lot of work! A nice little dress in a Lordship Lane shop would be likely to be ?15-20 so don't be afraid to charge a little more for unique, handmade items, especially with such high quality wool! Feel free to ignore me but I just wanted to say! Will try and come to the stall as would love to take a look (just don't tell my mum, she'll be irate ;) xx

Ok not sure who is coming tomorrow but shall we say 10am at the electrical cafe like last time, sitting near the front, as I'm not sure what the weather is due to be like tomorrow, it was a bit murky today. If it ends up being glorious happy to change location (will check thread!) but the electrical cafe seemed to work out nicely last time. I'll put a quick post up on the facebook group too. Looking forward to it! X -
Recommendations for nursing necklace

Definitely sophiec! Thanks Molly for all the info - just hoping my baby takes to it and his pulling etc doesn't worsen. He's quite gentle most of the time but I just don't want the odd pull /scratch that hurts becoming the norm. I managed to order one (thank you wonderwoman!) in between posts but would love to have a rummage anyway. Seeing as though I'm not buying any new clothes due to extended breastfeeding (!) a girl can surely have a couple of nursing necklaces?? -
The prettiest girl at my school was called Rea so I've always like that name (weird because she was a right cow, how shallow of me!). Not quite Rio but similar ish.
-
Oh the names we can't use that haunt us! I love Siena (the town, and it has been special to me and my husband since he lived there in 2000) and wanted to use it as a girl's name ever since! Then Ms Millet came along with her over exposure and spoilt it all! Similarly I was beginning to think a certain lovely girls name that had previously been associated with Eastenders might be up for use again... And then 'Bianca' only went and came back dint (sic!) she??? Still theoretically hanker after both those names...

Think these are lovely. Dress idea is great. Good point re: washing wool BUT in my opinion (as the owner of lots of lovely Grannie made knits) this is a misconception as good wool washes fantastically - I have baby cardis that have been washed and rewashed and look as good as new. My mum knit a cardi for a friend's baby and she text me to say how much wear they'd got out of it on her hols but that it was now waiting for handwashing! I text her and said shove it in the machine it'll be fine, and it was! If you agree with this then maybe a sign saying 'washing machine friendly at 30 degrees' or whatever you think? Anyway Pickle I think your prices are very reasonable for the work you must put in!

I have wondered that ladyruskin - but want one which won't break, doesn't matter if he eats it (no horrible dyes, metals, bits that might fall off etc) and also one which is particularly appealing to babies (I could be getting drawn in by marketing hype here of course...) - but not hideous to look at, don't ask for much do I? He likes my boring diamond pendant on a gold chain that I wear but I worry with his EIGHT TEETH (!!) and brute strength he might pull if off and swallow the pendant. Don't fancy picking through his poo for that! -

Have remembered I have a nurse appointment at 2 in East Dulwich so either morning or after 245 or so would be good for me. Who else is about and what are you days looking like? x -
Yup, the inlaws have a dog called Morgan. Oh dear! Anna - love Boo as a nickname, reminds me of Monsters Inc and that Boo is how I picture my daughter if I ever have one!

Evening all, I've seen people recommending nursing necklaces on here to keep wandering (pinching, ouch!) fingers occupied during breastfeeding sessions and I'm going to buy one asap as my son is starting to really pinch and scrape no matter how much I keep on top of his nails. Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a retailer/online shop/particular brand? I'd like something funky but classic enough to wear everyday, reasonably priced and comfortable enough to wear when wearing a sling (may not be possible!). Plus interesting enough to keep baby from pulling on my lip, hair, chest etc! Thank you in advance!!

I think Atticus is a lovehate thing. You'd have to be thick skinned about it but people would get used to it. It sounds so intellectual as well so it sets quite an expectation on the poor boy! Still love it though :)

Nooooooo Sophie that's awful you poor thing! Have you got everything you need to get better? Hope you're all well again by the long weekend :( Please can you text me your mob number as I've lost all mine in iPhone switch... Hugs xxxx -
I knew of a Harper (little boy) who very sadly died when a few days old, think it is a beautiful name, the family went on to have two more healthy children both with unusual lovely names too.

I love Atticus too! Oooo I love baby names!

Hi everyone - what time suits for the meet up on 27th (this Weds)? Looking forward to it, and I think there was mention of Hilly fields? -
Fuschia I have been known to say through gritted teeth, if you want any more beautifully named grandchildren call the next mongrel Rover!!

Snowboarder: My inlaws do my head in by using up good names for their dogs... (they have many, many dogs) So this means very nice names like Cordelia, Noah and Grace are out of bounds for any future babies!

I like looking at nameberry for interesting name ideas and lists. It's US based but covers a wide spectrum of names. They even have lists for 'If you like ... You might love ...'. Here is the one for Bailey: http://nameberry.com/list/273/If-You-Like-Bailey-You-Might-Love On the Grey's Anatomy front, I like the names Addison and Meredith. And the phonemically related name Madison! None of those are my usual taste but I just like the flow of them and the way they look written down.

EDMummy, I love Old Testament and especially Jewish boys names despite being non-religious. A friend I've known since 2002 stopped me in the street and asked me what we were doing for Hannukah (which I'm now struggling to even spell!) on the strength of our baby's name, I was a little bit confused to say the least! She said "Oh I thought you were Jewish before but his name just cemented it!" Like Fuschia I couldn't pick a top ten name but I know lots of people wouldn't pick a name as unusual as our choice so it's horses for courses. And I will never reveal my final baby names until the bubba is on earth, people are far less rude at that juncture! Good luck picking though OP! Girls names are so fun :)

Weaning - im completely confused!!

Another BLW fan here: have found it such a chilled out, happy way to introduce baby to food. My little one has sucked, gummed and nibbled a lot and now at 8 months is starting to ingest more and more. I know things may well change but for now he seems to enjoy having a go at absolutely anything which is lovely to see, and some of the faces he pulls are just priceless - he looks outraged, and then just carries on chomping! I love the BLW cookbook and have also found loads of family, saltfree recipes on the BLW forum, babycentre and elsewhere online. A happy side effect has been a much improved diet for my husband and I. Still eat far too much chocolate and cake though (us not baby!). -
